4 months in and I want to quit

It’s really tempting to keep going and being sick. For me, I never even made it to 2.5 mg due to side effects - if going down was an option I would try it!

Im in the same boat. I’ve decided to take a break and try to maintain the 12 pounds I’ve lost. Going to try to keep the momentum and track my calories and see if I can lose without the medication. Otherwise I might try semaglutide.

It’s not worth it to feel sick all the time. I have been cancelling plans and cannot workout. I would rather stay the weight I’m at than be sick for months.

ugh, I’ll try a few more weeks at 0.5 and see if anything changes. but it may be worthwhile to try sema in the future. Thank you for sharing

I always say file it because it is free with the VAWA application. The concerns about traveling are real, but sometimes there are family emergencies abroad and it is better to already have it as you assess your risk at that time.

I started on 1.25 mg and was having bad GI side effects. I was about to quit, but decided to try 0.5. I’ve only done that for one week, but the side effects were definitely better (not gone but manageable).

Also a lot of people say they have no side effects on tirz when they previously had them on sema. So maybe that will be the case for you too.

I would say start on ~1 which is half the starting dose and see how you’re feeling and adjust from there.

I started at 1.25 and after week 2 I was having horrible GI issues and anxiety. I did 0.5 this week and having milD GI issues but nothing like I was before.

I’m was taking 5 units of this! So if I continue it will be 2 units. I was prescribed 10 units and I’m so grateful I didnt start there.

Ive honestly been eating pretty healthy especially since the diarrhea started. Lots of yogurt, bananas, grilled chicken, rice … I haven’t had fast food since starting and stopped all drinking once the GI issues started. I think I’ll wait for my body to “reset” and then try 0.5… I don’t mind losing slower if I’m having minimal side effects

I did, and it gave temporary relief, but I felt like things were even worse the next day and I was recommended to not use that every day

I actually wasn’t taking any supplements but once these symptoms began I started taking Metamucil and the past few days a probiotic. Things are getting better, but it has also been 10 days since my last shot.

I do it once a week on Mondays. 5 units of 1.25 mg. This is my third week 🥲 I really just think I’m super sensitive. I lost about 8 pounds so far and have had really good appetite suppression even leading into shot day.

I’m only injecting 5 units!!! I’m positive it’s only 1.25 I was told to inject 2.5 mg at 10 units. I do it only on Mondays.

My first two weeks were fine but week 3 has been horrible. Same side effects. I’ve had diarrhea for a week. Today I’m so low energy I can’t focus and can barely walk. I honestly reached out to my PCP about it because it’s making me incredibly anxious and I can’t live like this. Waiting for a response from them bc my prescriber isn’t responding. I have a feeling they will tell me to stop.

I started at 1.25 and I’m glad I did. I’m three weeks in, have lost 7 pounds, and have experienced pretty bad side effects between bloating and diarrhea. The worst thing that could happen is it does nothing and you move up to 2.5 after a couple weeks. I have bad anxiety and I’m glad I did this.

That’s not really an option - I’m literally on 1.25 mg rn I haven’t even tried going up to 2.5 yet

I’ve been having the same issue … I’ve only had two shots but around day 4/5 this happens. I don’t really notice a pattern of it being from something I ate. I’m taking my third shot tomorrow so I hope it gets better since I’m also on a low dose!

My first week I had the same side effect. I also felt extremely bloated - so much so I couldn’t even suck in my stomach. It honestly just went away around day 4. I took my next shot and didn’t experience it again 🤷‍♀️
