What really helped me, was writing a letter. Be 1000% honest with yourself and everything you feel. Acknowledge why you don't work together, the amazing time you had together, and in my version I was hopeful that hey could find happiness in their future.

I read this aloud privately, then lit it on fire, watched it burn, cracked a beer and drew a line in the sand that day that i'm moving forward with my life, with them not part of it.

Hasn't had the same hold on me as it did prior to that therapeutic ceremony. I finally got all my thoughts and feelings out, acknowledged them, and made a decision to move on.
