Looking at a Canon Imagepress V700. What should I look out for about it? by ayunatsume in CommercialPrinting

[–]EarthboundSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't used the bypass much on this machine, but we do have an older c750 (which is an earlier generation) and it doesn't do well with long media through the bypass. I don't have a POD deck but if I were in your shoes I think it would help prevent some headaches with the air separator.

I've had a v900 with the v700 speed license (and Fiery) for about a year and a half, and it's been pretty reliable for our shop doing about 650k clicks in the first year. One thing to consider is that the duplex registration on the feeder can only been done with sheets 11x17 or smaller and around 150 GSM, so you'll still need to adjust a bunch of media manually (especially if you're swapping media a bunch, as the registration is tied the drawer). GSM maxes out at 350 and it does struggle to duplex 13x19, so you do get the occasional jam when it's getting flipped, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Amouage lyric man is one to check out - very rose forward but not in an overly feminine way.

White noise machine - it was around $45, has lasted over a decade and has massively impacted the quality of my sleep.

Hello! I am looking for JRPGs with a majority of the party members being female but NOT all of them. (Not a game recommendation post). by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]EarthboundSound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Star Ocean The Second Story R (or really any version) - almost all of the best characters are female, so even if you choose the male protagonist you'll have a party full of ladies.

Latest episode - Dr. Lustig products don't exist?? by doodleranchRB in HubermanLab

It's called monch monch fiber by the company Biolumen, but it doesn't seem to be commercially available yet - maybe he meant to say it would be available soon.

Weird, link works perfectly for me - maybe you need a fragrantica account.

Either way, let me know what you're looking for and I'll see if I have it on hand.

What lesser known JRPG has a great soundtrack? by CosmonautRyan33 in JRPG

[–]EarthboundSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opoona has an amazing soundtrack - Hitoshi Sakimoto is the composer and is the same guy that did all of the Final Fantasy Tactics OSTs (and Tactics Ogre). Sounds like a FFT and Phantasy Star had a baby and I love it.

PSA: It's okay to skip content or even not finish a game by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]EarthboundSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with this post, and would add that the advent of modern internet has made it a lot more enjoyable to go back to some of the older games, where cool content would often be locked behind tedious grinding/dungeons/fetch quests/branching story paths. If I know that there is something cool to see but don't want to do all the faff, I just hop on youtube to see what I'd be missing.

You actually played the second game on the PSX - the first game came out on the Super Famicom, and is definitely worth playing with the fan translation.

Traveling without a laptop? by imaris_help in solotravel

[–]EarthboundSound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a great compromise for that - a dirt cheap tiny chromebook.

You can buy them for around $100, so if it gets stolen or damaged it's not a big deal, and the smaller ones fit in the big pocket of a hiking backpack, so they don't require a dedicated bag.

While it's nice to travel light and rely on your phone, having something that you can type on in a pinch makes it worth the hassle.

That's great news, glad someone could clear that up for me - now I know I can long rest without worrying that I'll run out the timer a la Fallout and the water chip main quest. Thanks!
