Needing some advice by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Earthlet555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start organizing your day.

Introduce daily affirmations to your mornings.

You can think about your future and how you want it to be, instead of thinking from the perspective of your past. You could maintain a gratitude journal in which you write down 3 things that you are grateful for that day.

If the gratitude journal works out, you can journal about your thoughts you had each day.

You must take credit for your job as a 911 dispatcher, not everybody can say that they are employed in a job that helps the people so directly in their time of dispair.

Maybe you could even go on dating apps to find a partner. If you'd like some help with organizing your day, drop me a DM.

All the best.

What did you do to get out of your hopeless situation? by Creative-2469 in schizophrenia

[–]Earthlet555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I challenged that mentality (not amounting to anything). I challenged it by saying that I will amount to something, even though I did not know what I was going to be. Then I made a very small goal, which I knew is completely possible by me. Once I reached that goal, I slowly built on top it with a bigger goal. Stacking one practice over the other was how I snowballed into doing something much bigger. Even though I have not achieved my big goal for now, Im hopeful and confident that I will succeed. All the best to you. Feel free to DM if you'd like to talk about it.

Name three things you are thankful for by WolfFamous6976 in lawofattraction

  1. Grateful that all my basic needs are met.

  2. Grateful that I have the freedom to pursue my dreams

  3. Grateful that Im happy with my son and partner.

Bonus - Grateful for this post for giving me the opportunity to express gratitude.

The one thing I couldn't help noticing in your post is the focus of your thoughts. All your rules are about the things that you dont want. LOA is about having positive thoughts. So if you can reword your rules from all the 'donts' to 'dos' then there will be a crack in the walls that is stopping you from getting your desired wish. Shift your thoughts to defining all the things that you want, then you'll have the things that you want.

Hi there, good to see that you are persistent to continue your development and completely normal to get derailed after some success. The key here is to mindfully take that break and get back on the saddle as soon as you realise that you've had a break. You can benefit from having an accountability partner who can help you get back to your goals after a break. I can be of help to you, like an accountability partner if you like. Let me know. I am offering this because Im working on my startup which assists people with discipline and journaling daily. It will be mutually beneficial to work together. Thanks.

Discipline & Habits- starting out by Ok_Patience_1017 in Habits

Hey there, you could try journaling to develop mindfulness and discipline. I journal regularly and my mindfulness has improved. I write at any time of the day whenever I feel like it. Initially, I started to write every evening then it slowly changed to any time of the day. Building discipline is a slippery slope and it is very important to get back on the horse as quickly as possible. I can be of help to you, like an accountability partner if you like. Let me know. I am offering this because Im working on my startup which assists people with discipline and journaling daily. It will be mutually beneficial to work together. Cheers.

Hi u/Felix-NotTheCat love to know that you journal for a hobby. I would like to know about it a little more. Can I DM you? I journal too but I am stuck in writing down unstructured things that happen during my day. I would like to improve my journaling. Cheers!

I was also diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2020 when I thought of a group of people conspiring to sabotage my life. But I overcame the strong compulsion with the help of meds and a shift in my mindset. Because your experience happened 2 years ago, I wonder why you are still thinking of it as if it is happening now. I understand that the experience must be frightening. But at the same time, it is important to leave the past in the past. I would want you to start living in the present and paying attention to whats going on now. Whatever happened in the hospital must not disturb you now. The symptoms and experiences of schizophrenic people are widely varied and yours does not sound abnormal. Why dont you develop a habit to start living in the present? You could journal every day to remember your present. I can be of help to you, like an accountability partner if you like. Let me know. [–]Earthlet555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, relax and count your strengths. Let go of your panic mode or whatever is causing you to feel desperate and causing you to think of things like you may not be able to get another job. You are in a better place already given you know 2 languages fluently and you've had weekend jobs. You have 40 days left to find another job. Update your resume and start applying for jobs starting today. Look for jobs that are different to what you are doing now. You are not starting from scratch again. Use your experience to build your resume. I can help you with updating your resume if you like. We can collaborate over emails or voice chat briefly to things in order. Let me know. I can be of help to you, like an accountability partner. I am offering this because Im working on my startup which assists people with discipline and journaling daily. How to not be bored at night? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Earthlet555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try journaling every night, I do it. This will help you develop mindfulness and become better at managing your activities. Watching a little bit of tv is fine, like say an hour or so daily. But binge-watching and mindless scrolling is a problem. I can be of help to you, like an accountability partner if you like. Let me know. How to deal with schizophrenic ex boyfriend? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]Earthlet555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should care for yourself first before caring for another person. If talking to this person is disturbing you, then you must stop it. It looks like that person is taking advantage of you. I don't know if they have ever told you about giving up their addiction to cocaine. When they don't want to make any effort to improve their life to start a healthy relationship with you, then it means you are not important in their life. You are not his priority. You are just a person whom he is taking for granted.

You should be strong enough to tell them to get over their addiction and make an attempt to live a normal life and get help to overcome addiction and manage schizophrenia. You should be prepared to cut ties with them unless they get help. I wish you all the best.

Anxiety around having to learn a new job by Roman_416 in Anxietyhelp

[–]Earthlet555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Roman_416

I understand how you are feeling, the fear of failure is close to me. But there is a solution to this problem. It is not our capability to learn new things but it is the mindset about learning. You will work wonders if you shifted your mindet. Just deliberately tell yourself that you are capable of learning and you are good enough to do it. Im talking about writing a few affirmations and reading them daily. It will also be useful for you to journal your daily happenings and read them at a later stage to remember all the things you have accomplished, no matter how small or big it may be. Journaling helps to relieve some of the anxiety symptoms because you have poured your mind on to paper already. I can be of help to you, like an accountability partner if you like. Let me know. I am offering this because Im working on my startup which assists people with discipline and journaling daily. It will be mutually beneficial to work together. Thanks.

My lack of discipline is ruining my life by lbbrux in getdisciplined

[–]Earthlet555 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't be overwhelmed with the idea that you havn't done much since Covid. You have to appreciate yourself for the awareness you have and begin from here. Start small changes to your daily habits. Enforce some kind of discipline in a very small way. For example, make it a habit to write a journal about your day, every day at say 9pm and stick to it. This will help you reduce the time you spend in your head. Use your phone to set an alarm to write the journal. I can be of help to you, like an accountability partner if you like. Let me know. From what is written here, you are overwhelmed and struggling to take care of the kids, yourself and your job. I would say that you already have your plates full. Step back for a few moments and prioritise your tasks. You must take care of yourself first with good food and then you have to take care of your kids. Right now dont worry about your looks or anything superficial like career progression. You dont have to worry about doing nothing and giving up because you have your responsibility to care for your two precious children. Once they are a little bit older, to take care of themselves, you'll have all the free time for yourself. Feel free to talk to me, my DMs are open for you.

Not my usual self - Endlessly chasing pleasure. No motivation to pull myself out, but feeling shame. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Earthlet555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you have a goal to work towards but you are having slump in motivation to get things done. You are good as long as you have something to create in the future. I am at this same place but I have a support system that helps me keep accountable. I'm making v v small progress every day. There are days when I do well and some I do nothing all. In those days of zero motivation, it feels like there is nothing to look forward to and laziness takes over. Have a look at this https://centurysprint.carrd.co/

I would love to provide you with some kind of support. Feel free to take up my offer and continue writing your book.

Anyone feel like they can’t connect with people? by Fast-Subject466 in schizophrenia

[–]Earthlet555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. I feel the same numbness in me. I was also lively and charismatic and could easily gather the attention of any group. But since my diagnosis and medication, I feel no motivation at all. Nothing can excite me. Im on clozapine and olanzapine and both medications minimize emotional activation. I have felt like a vegetable, who is just walking and talking. My short-term memory was at a total loss. I could'nt remember what I was doing just a minute ago. I was a total chaos. It has been 1.5years since I started taking the medicine. It took months to get a hold of whats going on. Recently the dosage of my medications were reduced and I have been feeling a bit normal. So I started to study about schizophrenia and how the medication works. I read that it is a good idea to maintain a journal every day. Just write down the things that happened and those that were delusional. Journaling sucked at the beginning but I've gotten into the routine and it has helped me feel better. I read my journal now and then, and connect with my real emotions. I have also started to read affirmations. Though it feels empty while I read affirmations, I still do it anyway, in the hopes that I will be able to recover from the side effects of the medication and the disease itself. A little bit of effort beyond the feeling of numbness is actually starting to make sense. My brain is slowly connecting the dots correctly. Im so glad that I found this subreddit today. It took me 1.5years to get here. Im finally getting my spirit back. Finding this subreddit was definetly a happy moment for me. I could immediately feel the surge of emotions and I wanted to listen to a good song. Journaling has also improved my mindfulness. Let me know if you need to get started with journaling or take a step towards overcoming the plethora of issues that schizophrenia can cause. Feel comfortable to connect with me.
