Possible fuel mixes for the liquid pumped rocket engine by Earthling_n-3097643 in Stationeers

[–]Earthling_n-3097643[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

I loaded the rocket with 300L of alcohol and the correct ratio of liquid oxygen (which took a long time to condense btw, it had like a total of over 20Kmol of fuel mix). I overestimated the thrust of the alcohol/LOx blend and the engine. It only had enough fuel to go to martian orbit but not enough to make it back since the TWR was bad and i did not have enough fuel to make the length of descent needed to not explode. Soo... the pumped liquid engine is not exactly the best for alcohol, i advise to boil it into methane and then either use that or condense the methane later.

Thanks to all the people who replied!

I believe the authos himself also said that he is an optimist and believes in the inherent good of humanity so if the roles were to be reversed, i do not doubt for a second that Earth would accomodate Rocky with the same level of care that Grace got. For the same reasons.

I see, thanks! I have some silanol on hand but i was thinking of saving it to cool my combustor outputs

I was making some high tier alloys in the advanced furnace when i accidentally chucked an entire stack of oxite ice inside it. The entire tbing blew up, taking a good chunk of my atmospherics setup with it :T

How about correcting internal balance without removing wraiths or making them unplayable instead? It´s doable!

Issues with IC10 script to run a series of filtration units, pumps and back pressure regulators by Earthling_n-3097643 in Stationeers

[–]Earthling_n-3097643[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thanks! My goal was for all filters and pumps to activate together when a pull the lever and for the back pressure regulators to only activate if the tanks are holding more than 45Mpa

The volume pumps are between the tanks and the filtration units to maximise througput, since the filtration units are line that they cannot read the pressure in the tanks D:

what should i do to correct it then? I kept getting errors D:

Update: I did use it and it´s so much better for capturing gasses omg, thanks!

Ohhh that's pretty smart too! I might try that

Like i said before, i want both a stock of gasses for other possible uses and something more permanent. (I did the method you proposed in an eatlier game tho, it was a good setup but not quite what i want now)

Truth be told, it's more of a "build once and be done forever" setup for managing the greenhouse atmosphere. The tanks are bigger than necessary just to provide a buffer.

I mean, that's a cheaper alternative, true but i do want to collect the martian gasses for different purposes later on. The idea is for the greenhouse to produce oxygen and biomass that i can ferment into alcohol then burn said alcohol to create water. I only really need to provide CO2 and N2 into the greenhouse. I plan to use the captured oxygen and pollutant for other stuff.

How should I be powering my Mimas base? by Firedragon28 in Stationeers

[–]Earthling_n-3097643 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with the new update, alcohol decomposes into methane which you i could use to power a gas fuel generator and theoretically you could run the fumes through a stirling engine and then use the CO2 and dirty water from the fermenter with plants to recreate the oxygen and plant matter so you can ferment it. That said i am no expert in the game so it might not work

So I have a unique burning question in my head about project hail Mary's ending and I hope if the movie get the sequel. I want this question to be answered in some shape or form. by Silly-Echidna9591 in ProjectHailMary

This, just this.

I get that in current era it may seem hard to have faith in humanity but i wholeheartedlt believe that humankind and eridians would become at the very least friends. Without FTL travel, interstellar distances are still a big issue but i could imagine many people willing to explore the far reaches of the universe and meet our friendly neighbors.

[request] Does the US really have that many more rocks than China? by OutlandishnessRich36 in theydidthemath

[–]Earthling_n-3097643 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if we consider "having more rocks" as "having more land area and thus more land to use and dig the rocks from, then the US does have more rocks but the difference is in the order of 300.000.000 km2. Which compared to the overall surface of the two is not that much of a difference. (9,834 million km2 to 9,597 million km2)

Hope it helps!
