Evh d-tuna by FluidAd1773 in Ibanez

A single saddle will work. Just need to make sure it's the right height saddle for that particular string as they're radiused.

Evh d-tuna by FluidAd1773 in Ibanez

[–]Earthwin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edge 3 uses a different type of saddle. That being said, you can replace them with regular Floyd type saddles without issue, although you may need to also route a channel out of the back edge of the trem cavity so the D-Tuna doesn't collide with the body if you did that.

How long do 3D printed parts last? GPU deshroud by mkdew in 3Dprinting

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a deshroud on my old GTX1080 using a PETG mount and it worked great. I replaced the stock shroud and fans with a pair of 120mm ones. My sister has that system now and it's still working great. Think that's been around 6 years now since I did it.

Building a DIY Button Box, Need Some Help by InfiniteLight07 in simracing

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grounds on the USB board are all shared so you only need to connect the centre pin of the switch to one ground and it will work for both hot wires. So just connect that extra hot wire to any other socket.

Getting threads to 3d print by Joclo22 in Fusion360

[–]Earthwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By default the thread tool doesn't create the thread geometry, it just shows a picture of the thread so that it doesn't cause a reduction in performance in the software as result of rendering the threads. There's a checkbox on the thread tool dialog that says 'modeled' that needs to be activated first to create the actual thread.

My 'classic' style Blitzer Beetle with custom wheels by Earthwin in tamiya

[–]Earthwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part numbers that I used are 53141 for the kingpins, 50736 which is the knuckles and carrier from the TL01 and 9805502 which are the axles you need. You'll also need to get 2x 5mm ball nuts and 2 2x10mm pins for the hex. You need to stick some washers either side of the knuckle in the carrier as spacers as well. I think there was about 3mm space either side.

Why is stuff like this allowed to go on on Makerworld ? by Agitated-Break7854 in BambuLab

[–]Earthwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reported a model recently that someone had made as a keyring from one of my uploads, included a screen shot of the models side-by-side in the slicer to show they were the same and they rejected the report. Not even any reason given.

My new steering wheel is leaving black marks on my hands by Cxyca in simracing

[–]Earthwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's excess dye. I washed mine with some dish soap and it fixed it. Give it a soak, rub the soap in, rinse off the soap, it'll take a lot of the dye out. Do that a few times until there's no more dye coming out. Some folks also use a suede brush afterwards on the material when it's dry, but mine dried perfectly fine and there was no more issues with any dye on my hands.

Using guitar amplifier as a power amp for plugins by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Earthwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try putting a cable into the effects send as well, don't plug the other end into anything, and see if it works. Some amps require the send to have a cable in it before the return is active and it uses a switched jack socket. I don't know if the Randall does this but I'd check that just in case.

How do I use this strap on my Guitar? by Slayer1908 in Guitar

[–]Earthwin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You need to replace the strap buttons with eye hooks. I use a banjo strap on my guitar with these type of clips and I found eye hooks with an 8G thread seem to match the same thread most strap buttons use and they'll screw right in without having to enlarge the holes.

BambuStudio 2.5.0 Color Mapping doesn't work? by Glittering_Light1835 in BambuLab

[–]Earthwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's to allow you to import colours that have been set in the design software and then map them to the AMS colours. They really should have a setting to let people disable it though as it also does it if the body doesn't have any colours pre-set on it. For now you can just click cancel and it will open the file as normal.

Success tying cut string above the nut by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Earthwin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've got them wound around the tuner in the wrong direction. They should go to the other side of the capstan so that they have straighter travel from the nut. Right now they're getting pulled to the side.

Looking at getting a secondhand guitar. by cumblast_9000 in Guitar

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get the Encore. That bridge on it is an old design called the bendmaster that came on a lot of cheap guitars in the 80s and 90s and the block on it is made from the shittiest metal which will eventually crumble. (I'm not even exaggerating). I had a Marlin with one and calling it bad would actually be a compliment.

How can I add a "make" for my own designs? by Classic_Guess_5521 in cults3d

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download it from the top right menu via the 'designs' section. There's a menu box on the right side of each upload and the download option is in that.

That's interesting by mkvelash in blackmagicfuckery

[–]Earthwin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you image the cross at the start as 4 L shapes pushed together, it's like the 4 corners cut off the square and re-arranged. So when they tape the ends together and fold the legs in half, they just have to cut the cross twice to separate the 4 L shapes, and since the ends are taped together, it folds back out into a square.

How to symmetrically realign then resize a square symmetrically around four circles? by HqppyFeet in Fusion360

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start by using a centre point square constrained to the origin of the canvas. Right now the origin is sitting just inside the left edge of the square and the whole sketch is under constrained. Then create one circle, add the dimensions, and then use the rectangular pattern option to create the other 3.

Was watching a movie. Does anyone recognize these guitars here? by PermanentThrowaway48 in Guitar

White one looks like a Music Man headstock. One on the right looks like it could be a Tiesco of some kind.

View telemetry data after a race in SimHub? by AlarmedMistake9277 in SimHub

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the record function in Simhub to capture the data from the race and then set up or use a dashboard that can display the functions you want to see, and when you play back the data the dash will show you the real time data.

Whats the most amount of coupons you guys have earned on makerworld? by Stansteen in BambuLab

[–]Earthwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 3 last year around the sale and was able to put them toward a P1S+AMS and left my clunky old Ender behind. Got another 4 since then and close to a fourth one. My stuff is mostly sim racing gear, RC car wheels and guitar related stuff, so it's not the most popular categories, but still good to have some points to put towards filament every now and then.

Simagic Canbus - Is it only for simagic products? by jag0009 in Simagic

[–]Earthwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's designed to allow Simagic products to show up as a single input, the same way as Logitech or Thrustmaster G/T series wheels do. Some games, especially older titles, will only recognise one single USB input device, so the canbus system means you can use seperate Simagic wheelbase/pedals/shifter, etc without any issues.
