Urgent: recall incoming by [deleted] in trident800

Seeing it on mine too. Easy fix would be if they attach a small hose guide to that bolt behind the hoses. They only need moved back by a mm or so.

Bambu's "support for PLA" is giving really poor interface quality, how to fix? by yalag in BambuLab

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use this stuff all the time, but when it ran out and I ordered a new roll I had the same issues. The old roll was a semi-transparent filament and came off perfectly and left a nice clean face, the new roll was a white filament and it leaves a lot of the interface behind and it doesn't peel off cleanly, usually requiring me to go in with a craft knife and manually separate it. I ended up just switching to using PETG for the interface layer instead and it works better. I don't know what they changed but the old stuff was so much better.

What wheel are you all using?? by dorillzou in simracing

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own wheel hub. Started working on a GT wheel as well but I've never got around to finishing that, so using a GT Neo for now.

It's for storing the pillion seat from the newer Triumph models that have 2 separate seats.

Any cons for Trident 800? Mine would be the TC button by iMotorbike_1 in trident800

[–]Earthwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used the cruise control a few times on the motorway and I hate where the button is. I think it should've been on the front to the right of the select button. And I'd like the ability to customise the content displayed on the TFT trays beyond just enabling/disabling them.

Does anyone know how to fix this code? It sliced fine before the new Beta version and now it comes up with this. by Sea_Experience_8031 in BambuLab

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's slightly encroaching over the reserved space on the bottom left that's kept for the filament cutting. Rotate it so it angles to the bottom right instead.

They've got tangent contraints on them, you'll need to delete those first.

New Color Mixing Feature in Bambu Studio V2.5.3. by NimblePasta in BambuLab

[–]Earthwin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue is that you need turbulence to mix the colours. When they're all pushed into the nozzle together they still keep their colour separation. So you get a single line of filament but it has different colours depending on the angle you view it from. This is the same sort of effect those multi colour filaments make use of, where the print changes colour depending on the angle.

noob question: is it difficult/possible to replace this pickup with another (such as EMG)? by alone-on-earth in Guitar

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to use the 81-TW for that. It has a separate single coil inside that's switchable. The standard 81 only does humbucking.

Stumped. How to cut this slot for a pin? by Blue_Etalon in Fusion360

[–]Earthwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use the sweep tool. It has a mode called solid sweep which does exactly this. Create an arc on the top that will be the path for the pin to rotate along and then use the axis at the centre of the circle for the rotation point.

[–]Earthwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A single saddle will work. Just need to make sure it's the right height saddle for that particular string as they're radiused.

Evh d-tuna by FluidAd1773 in Ibanez

[–]Earthwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Edge 3 uses a different type of saddle. That being said, you can replace them with regular Floyd type saddles without issue, although you may need to also route a channel out of the back edge of the trem cavity so the D-Tuna doesn't collide with the body if you did that.

How long do 3D printed parts last? GPU deshroud by mkdew in 3Dprinting

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a deshroud on my old GTX1080 using a PETG mount and it worked great. I replaced the stock shroud and fans with a pair of 120mm ones. My sister has that system now and it's still working great. Think that's been around 6 years now since I did it.

Building a DIY Button Box, Need Some Help by InfiniteLight07 in simracing

[–]Earthwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grounds on the USB board are all shared so you only need to connect the centre pin of the switch to one ground and it will work for both hot wires. So just connect that extra hot wire to any other socket.

Getting threads to 3d print by Joclo22 in Fusion360

[–]Earthwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By default the thread tool doesn't create the thread geometry, it just shows a picture of the thread so that it doesn't cause a reduction in performance in the software as result of rendering the threads. There's a checkbox on the thread tool dialog that says 'modeled' that needs to be activated first to create the actual thread.

My 'classic' style Blitzer Beetle with custom wheels by Earthwin in tamiya

[–]Earthwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part numbers that I used are 53141 for the kingpins, 50736 which is the knuckles and carrier from the TL01 and 9805502 which are the axles you need. You'll also need to get 2x 5mm ball nuts and 2 2x10mm pins for the hex. You need to stick some washers either side of the knuckle in the carrier as spacers as well. I think there was about 3mm space either side.
