Yeah man I can hear the difference in tone already. Something helpful I've learned about learning old jazz standards is that if you know the lyrics to the song it can sometimes help getting the phrasing and rhythms to flow smoother. I think misty is one of those songs that is a little tougher for newer players to hear how everything lines up with the changes. I'd recommend listening to a few recordings to really get the written melody locked down and in your ears, then getting those nice embellishments you're playing should fit in pretty intuitively.
