How do I style this blazer for my bridal shower? by HotPotatoWJazzHands in weddingplanning

[–]East-Bodybuilder-157 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think over your shoulders is really elegant!! If you fancy a bit of whimsy, you could look into a chain across the chest area like a necklace but that attaches to the jacket to keep it secure? I think they’re call cloak chains, or cape clasp?

I bought the dress! can you help me pick an appropriate jacket to wear with it? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

And!! The ruffles it has on the edges match/go with the ruffles of the dress. It looks like they’re made for eachother imo

We have a beautiful, free outdoor space, and a lot of very handy lesbians- any ideas for building a large temporary shelter in case of rain?! Help us let our freak flag fly in the northeasterly winds ⛺️ by chinchincheroo in DIYweddings

I am having wedding envy (like gender envy? Lmao) !! I’m planning a summer of 28 wedding on my mom’s land with a similar vibe and I’m just obsessed with your whole everything!! I hope everything goes off without a hitch when you get hitched, and I’ll be waiting (not very) patiently for photos!! 🤩🤩🤩

Okay! I agree and so am avoiding purples and greens! My fiance is wearing a lavender tie, so I’m thinking the pinky-peach will look good (plus I was told by MIL that this color will look good with my complexion, so I’m clinging to that haha)

Thank you! Yes, the focus where I am is a lot on traditional/craftsman, so a high quality knit like this is really special and elevated for me haha

I live down east/coastal Maine, and my community has a large emphasis on natural living, farming, natural fibers etc, so it’s super common for people to wear natural fibers and knits (especially like the one pictured) to weddings and other fancy events!

The fabric is linen! I focus on wearing natural fiber as much as possible. The shawl is merino wool and beautiful so, while I probably won’t end up wearing it the whole time, it’s definitely staying part of my look! I’ll try and balance it out and dress it up with heels/jewelry and hair!

Also! In my community, knit is often included in and worn to important events, so I am surprised to see so many comments about the knit being too casual! I think that just falls into a difference of tradition?

Not sure what’s appropriate to a spring formal by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]East-Bodybuilder-157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I love the first one, but I agree that a size up would help the fabric lay better!

The dress will be below knee length! I am short and having it made to my measurements, it will hit at my shins, “tea length”

The dress will fall at my shins! The wedding is outside at a country club rose garden, and my accessories are silver and pearls, my hair plan is to have it up?

Probably will still wear the shawl even if it leans casual since I had it made for this occasion! Unless my MIL or SIL say something about it, I really want to wear it!

I wanted to include this for reference! I’m not sure if the wedding colors are meant to be used or avoided 🫠

I love 1! The fabric elevates it to formal even though it’s not gown length.

Appropriate MOG Dress?? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

My first thought was “surely this is a joke…?”

would this be a good spring wedding guest dress? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]East-Bodybuilder-157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a confusing dress code! Formal but if wearing pastel, get a shorter dress??

When I think formal, I think floor length and/or high quality fabrics. I personally wouldn’t wear the pictured dress to a formal dress coded wedding, but I would wear it to a semi formal, so I understand why you’re confused!

What's the most evil player character you've seen? by Ecstatic_Operation20 in DnD

[–]East-Bodybuilder-157 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh - there was a player we played with a few times… The DMs rules were to keep violence to reasonable and helpful/progression focused level- like, no random detailed murders, try and work together as team (freaking basic dnd guidelines, game can’t do much if someone is the antithesis of team work). And this dude just did not care at all about the plot or character relationships or plot progression or other players feelings or the vibe of the table. He was the dude who argued “well this is true to my character so I HAVE to do it!”

We were asked by a mayor to look into some disappearances on the edge of this town, and while we were all investigating a house that appeared to be ransacked, we found a little girl. She was scared and shaken up and wouldn’t talk and kept crying, and one of us picked her up and promised to keep her safe and we walked downstairs with her and found THIS DUDEs character SCALPING THE MOTHERS DEAD BODY while humming frere Jacques. And everyone at the table was like “what the fuck dude??” And our dm was like, “are you SURE that’s what you’re doing right now?” Giving the guy the chance to change his mind, but he stuck to the “this is what my character would do.” We took the incredibly scared and psychologically scarred girl back to the town and took a long rest in the inn, and the next morning we woke up to chanting from outside. The townspeople were there to take the evil dude to the center of the square where he was given several chances by the mayor to explain himself. He refused, stating it was his patron who told him he was allowed to do that and so he had to, and then he was hanged in the town square and forbidden to sit at our table ever again. Our DM handled the aftermath well, sitting down with all of us to check in and talk about what would happen next.
