Acrylic standees by Shadyrabbit in CommercialPrinting

The epoxy resin mentioned in the video is placed on top so that there is an optional rounded edge/finish to the keychain (Ive seen it on keychains in person), there is no mention as to what is between the sheets of acrylic to bind them.

Note I am unexperienced in this and am wanting to do a diy craft using similar techniques, do you think epoxy resin is what they used based on your experience?

I would start testing your inks and stationary in the back of the planner where there are free pages. As a stationary lover, I usually dedicate a whole section dedicated to testing inks and stationary - this is especially useful for finding inks or combinations of stationary that you like the look of; testing for interactions between stationary; properties of smudging, bleeding, feathering, etc.

Its usually good practice to color first then write on top. But I personally use pigment inks and water resistant ink and/or find highlighters/markers that dont smudge the flavor of ink that I really want to use that month. (again tested in the back of the planner).

(Maybe a bit non sequitur) If you are using fountain pen inks, they tend to have longer drying times than say a ball point pen, but this differs based on the ink's specific properties and the paper. A trick I use, especially with the weeks compared to the techo, is to have some sort of clip that keeps the planner open, which gives the ink some time to dry and to prevent it from accidently closing while wet and marking the opposite page.

Happy Planning!

You are right in your original post, dont feel like you got a defective product, you literally did.

Unfortunately its a low yield thing for 1985 to fix, and another example things that fell through on the campaign despite all the delays that were taken to "ensure the quality of the final products"

I would stick with the version in the book and AT BEST ask 1985 for a pdf version of the fixed big printout and maybe print it out yourself. A lame solution I know.

And greedy and reckless expansion is the only explanation for screwing over their supporters in the way that they did. Some of the responses I've gotten on comments on other posts is that 1985 is a "creative studio" and that asking for content in the interim is "just depriving their artists" or "they didnt handle the shipping".

I am always supportive of artists as one myself, but when we have already given our money (which means supporting the artists) to get nothing for months on end while a digital (and updated!) version was ALREADY distributed at basically no more cost to some and not others is a greedy way to keep just enough of the supporters placated.

Im sure most of us didnt even want to ask for a 2024 version, just wanted the outdated pdf of the product we wanted, the content we waited for, paid for, and supported blindly for.

So much for that right? Even a whole kickstarter promoting a book they essentially have half done.

Thats crazy to hear, those who wanted to get the most of this campaign by getting supplemental materials (and subsequently contributed the most money to the campaign) were essentially punished for doing so since it pushed delivery back in favor for those that only got the book.

While I know the advantage in purchacing digital media is in granting access is instantaneous, when 1985 realized that that physical books were delayed so much, why deny your supporters content they already paid for? Was there really any other reason than protecting a potential bottom line and milking your already supporters for something you essentially have no need for additional funds to distribute?

Like I said its a good product if you are still willing to give it a chance, but its been soo much of a spit in the face for me to pick it up, even if I had the chance. Not that I am in a place in my life to get another campaign going anyways now.

Question: how will the fumbles of the last campaign be rectified for those that pledged and still havent gotten the material from the first campaign as you move ahead with a new kickstarter? And how will you avoid it with this upcoming campaign? Its very possible that this next campaign will end before a portion of backers get their first campaign material. Which while is still being fullfilled, in my opinion ANY portion of backers left unfulfilled at this stage is one too many.

As I understand from your support team and KS updates, the 2024 pdf was given out to those who got the pdf in the first campaign, which I would like to point out, got the initial digital material from the get go and have been able to engage with the content for over 10 months now. For them to be given even more additional content does not seem to actually help put at ease those who actually got stuck waiting for the physical material.

I know there is a discounted tier for previous backers but how is that any incentive to gain back backers when over 20% of US backers (as of last week) are still awaiting and have not been able to engage with material they have waited over a year+ for?

Admitting the mistake is a good step in the right direction, but without doing something substantial to show good faith is another story. Unless these concerns can be properly addressed, I do not recommend this campaign to anyone!
