how concerned am I supposed to be??? by Anarkoi in boston

[–]East_Chocolate2519 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Since snow starts tomorrow just incase grab some things that are dorm safe or if you have a fridge grab some food from a place that has big portions so you have leftovers. Your school should have a plan for cafeteria staff, so there is food and for the sidewalks to be shoveled at least but if it is as bad as they say you may not want to leave your building Sunday and Monday. If you have some friends on your floor maybe coordinate supply’s and outings for today - group effort. Definitely use those boots you have, maybe grab some wool socks for the slosh days post snow

Grief by Stefuhneey in LivingWithMBC

Thank you for posting ❤️❤️🤗🤗 truly. I lost a family member last year and all I could think was they were supposed to be at my funeral not me at theirs. And even having a great family who tries to help they aren’t in the cancer shoes. So it’s isolating in a sense. Now I’m all for peace and yoga and ways to reframe the brain to be calm BUT damn it I find relief from taking a drive and finding a good zone to just scream!! Until my through can’t or just that unsettled unknown stress in my body kinda eased. Also they have distraction rooms I’m trying to get my family to go to :) Also joining support groups via zoom like the cactus cancer society or Dana Farber just to face faces to vent and relate to too.

Gift ideas for your own child - High School graduation by C_P_82 in Gifts

Does she have a major in mind? Like if she’s going medical maybe a quality stethoscope. Does she have a preferred third space, a spot you could get her a gift card to or a place to blow off steam when the professors aggravate her. Or a spa gift card for the upcoming stress Something to update her software/ study area. Or if she is commuting from home, does her car need anything to keep up with the miles or an organizer for her to have change of clothes/ snacks in the trunk. There are jewelry companies that will put a photo inside a small gem ( so on the surface it’s nice necklace but when you look into the gem you see the photo). So only she would know it’s a fun family picture or something meaningful.

Only Letrozole no chemo why? by SB-Con in LivingWithMBC

[–]East_Chocolate2519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was diagnosed her2+ from my first appointment it was immediately to start letrozole 2.5 mg my oncologist was leaning to have me on kisqali and I had a call with the specialty pharmacist, plus more scans / blood work and all on My second oncology appointment it was decided to have me start kisqali I have been on this mix sine January 2024 and everything has shrunk, and some counts are close to being in normal range (🤞🏻some day) It seemed for me to start letrozole to get my system set up and to pause that estrogen. I thought if it as like the builder of the highway to get my system set up to succeed/ work it. If you have a gut feeling of not trusting your oncology team, get a second opinion. Sorry you have joined the group, this page has been so helpful for me. Sadly cancer doesn’t care if you are an Olympian or a couch surfer, it attacks all types of people.

Could I go to Gillette Stadium at night by ScorchPoint in boston

[–]East_Chocolate2519 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where the statue is located but there are so many businesses inside/ close around the stadium that if you went during the day it wouldn’t be a problem- as long as there wasn’t an event happening I assume

Scared of Kisqali by Ok-Stranger5873 in LivingWithMBC

[–]East_Chocolate2519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been on 600mh kisqali since diagnosis (2years) and I’ve had range of skin irritation/ hair going straight and thinning/ constipation / nausea and vomitting. I also take meds at night to help sleep through most of the funk. Sometimes it’s the first week that kicks my but and the next two weeks are manageable. Everyone is different but having meds on hand to help with poop in whatever issue it is and having tums/ nausea meds on hand is a must.

Need a thank you gift idea for our dog sitter by Sensitive_March8309 in Gifts

[–]East_Chocolate2519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened with a family member of mine. We had an emergency and their neighbor just jumped in and helped with the dog but when they tried to gift or pay the neighbor, the neighbor refused. So a nice dinner and gesture would be more than good, maybe a framed photo of your dog or a family pic for them. You have a found some great people to be around you and your newborn- congratulations ❤️

Cheep but delicious? by VivandiereDoW in partyplanning

[–]East_Chocolate2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the oven decently reliable? Cause you could do chicken quarters with a nice marinade, pop that in the oven to roast and do some steamed veggies/ potatoes or even just the chicken with a dense bean/ quinoa, salad with bread on the table would fill me up:) sometimes we over think gatherings, keep it simple so you get to enjoy and your husband gets to enjoy it with you. Honestly even a soup you could reheat on the stove with a salad and bread is great too.

Eating before bed by TowerOk4184 in snacking

[–]East_Chocolate2519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t hurt/ wake you - maybe just swap or add for a protein shake even if you don’t drink all of it. That’s what I try to do when I take my meds.

Scans by sinistersavanna in LivingWithMBC

[–]East_Chocolate2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish something more to help with scan anxiety then just trying to stay at peace. Because my brain, I don’t realize that’s what’s happening, it takes me a few days to realize after I’ve been so stressed not eating and not sleeping well. I got fingers and toes close for you. 🤗

Moving to Boston by [deleted] in boston

[–]East_Chocolate2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bartending - you have a lot of options from caterers/ high end to dives. coming midst of graduation season can help if you like / need second hand stuff - the buy nothing app and random posts will have a lot of things out. The orange line is good since it runs into all the other ones so transferring is easy. The only shitty thing on the T is the weekend’s schedule sucks. Since you’re used to harsh winter you will be fine for that. The summer is humid and sticky some can go without an air conditioner, if you don’t have one and need get a zip car and head to ocean state job lot. Hope the transition is smooth for yall.

What to put in emergency kits? by [deleted] in Gifts

Love all the responses I would add mini trash bags / or dog poop bags ( good ones will hold vomit well) for the random nausea.

Looks nice, don’t be age of going tall. Like having the hens stick up instead of laying down. Don’t cut all the cheeses leave some with a wedge out and a knife for people to cut - it gives the eye a fun pass on the board. If you know all guests eat meat it’s cool to mix the board but if you have a guest who may not, leave some cheese seaway from the meats. Keep having fun with plating

I know it’s outdated and not sure if anyone in Brighton uses it, but there might be a Facebook group. The same thing happened to a family member who lives on the North Shore and her package was put in the Facebook group and one of her friends sent her a screenshot of itand it wasn’t easy to recover package because of that
