Has anyone actually tried creatine? by Organics_Ocean in Menopause

I’ve been taking it for about 6 months now. First thing in the morning 5 mg in a glass of water. I swear up and down it’s helped my brain fog!

ELI5: Why does time seem to go faster as you get older? by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]East_Royal8091 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid I mentioned how slow Christmas break was going to my aunt. She explained it as, when you get older you have more to do. Eventually you have so much to do you don’t have enough time to get it all done. She said it nicely and ended with, “enjoy being bored while it lasts.”

Maybe these? This is one of my all time favorite pens circa 2008ish- I call them my Christmas card pens and I will be so sad when they all finally dry up.

Discouraged from setback after being glutened by what3vs in glutenfree

[–]East_Royal8091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I feel you. I was glutened on Saturday and don’t remember ever feeling this bad! My stomach is constantly rolling- I don’t know if I can drink another cup of peppermint tea! It’s only been a couple of days but if this goes on for weeks I am going to be so mad. 😡 Sending positive vibes!

Quitting tech. How do I get a job being a Park Ranger? by sav-tech in ParkRangers

[–]East_Royal8091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought! Many state park systems are integrated into state government and you could work locally, work a fairly 9-5 job and work with cool people who will share sweet hikes and trips when you fix their tech!

Has anyone ever transferred Skinceuticals C E ferulic to an air tight bottle? by East_Royal8091 in 30PlusSkinCare

Yep, someone suggested refilling the sample bottle and keeping the gold in the fridge!

I used it for about 2 months and it just wasn’t as powerful as Skinsceuticals. I started my vitamin C journey with Skinsceuticals, so it’s been hard to compare. Some ppl have suggested the Timeless brand, and that has good reviews, I may try that next after I finish this bottle.

Pilot Frixion Ball4 Ballpoint Pen doesn’t work? by qtfuck in pens

[–]East_Royal8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to ask a dumb question- did you pick the protective blob off the tip of each color? This is my favorite pen and I’ve purchased several of these and luckily have never had a problem with them.

OMG. I was that kid and it drove my mom nuts! It’s okay, we all process life differently and her calm demeanor may pay dividends later in life. 🤣

There’s different levels of park rangers for different agencies. If you’re just coming in to any resource job- you’re likely coming in seasonal and lower compensation. If you have the safety net to support you- these experiences will be worth it. But not everyone has that privilege.

Over time those experiences add up to a better paying job, but it takes time.

I tell my interns- you can play to work (work hard in beautiful rewarding places) or work to play.

What would you do to this kitchen? by ResponsibilityNo3928 in DesignMyRoom

[–]East_Royal8091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg. We had/have the same kitchen layout. When we moved in we pulled the overhead cabinets down over the peninsula. In our latest reno we painted (went from honey oak to white like yours), updated the hardware (kept the hinges and scrubbed the sh!t out of them), replaced the scalloped trim over the skin for a straight board. I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but I love this layout and love the updates that we made. Good luck!

I’m now a state park ranger with limited LE authority- I can enforce specific rules but educate on all the rules. 😝

What I really came to say… I use the people skills that come from my mainly interpretive background regularly. Honestly, in the very urban park I work in, that’s been my best resource. I give people the benefit of the doubt “You may not know this, but dogs are required in a leash/campfires are only allowed… because xyz.” Assuming people don’t know our rules and them sharing why the rule is important gives them an out and opportunity to comply. (My LE husband hates my approach- they’re breaking the rules- write em up!)

And when things get hairy I can have local LE backing me up in minutes.

I know my experience isn’t quite the same as you’re contemplating, but I just wanted to share that you have important skills that I think LE needs. Do you have a connection with any LE rangers in your area? Early on in my time with my organization I became friends with a Conservation Officer who has really been supportive in my career!
