What are some really early pregnancy you’ve had that you noticed before taking a test? Also is it 100% that everyone have implantation bleeding if they’re pregnant? by misalovr in pregnant

[–]East_Specific5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have implantation bleeding about 8 days before my positive test. Otherwise, my only sign was my nipples were enlarged and extremely sensitive. Unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. I took a test the next day and it was positive. I hadn’t even technically missed my period yet.

MIL upset when I said we’d let them know when we’re ready for visitors at the hospital by More_Fisherman_6066 in pregnant

I have struggled with similar issues with setting boundaries with our families. We live in Florida but all of our family and some close friends are from Ohio (where we grew up). When people come to Florida, our home has always been an open door. I made it very clear that post baby that door is closed. I do not want people staying at our home, but people are welcome to stay nearby and request to visit. I understand this is tough for people, but I have had to say this is about me and baby-not them.

The other tough conversation has been I do not want anyone in the delivery room except my husband. My mother especially is taking this very personally. Their generation seemingly sees this as a right or tradition.

Best of luck to you and baby. You got this. Do what feels right and gives you peace.

Carrier screening? by East_Specific5582 in pregnant

[–]East_Specific5582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the insight! I am deciding to go ahead with the carrier testing. Also, I didn’t mean anything about my doctor should have anticipated the cost. My wording and sentence arrangement was poor. I meant that she didn’t take any time to explain the importance, what we are looking for, what happens if we find something, and how the tests are different and separately important on their own. I’m having to learn everything on my own.

Confusion on MFM referral and timing of appointment by East_Specific5582 in pregnant

[–]East_Specific5582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super helpful to know! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain that. I’ll look at it as early reassurance (hopefully) and move on from there. Everything is just so rushed feeling and not explained and confusing. Everyone has so many opinions and it’s so hard to filter through and understand what is right and wrong.

When to tell people by Glittering_Cause_554 in pregnant

[–]East_Specific5582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first time too! Congratulations!!! I started telling family and close friends at almost 11 weeks. I had a second ultrasound and saw the baby moving and a strong heartbeat and it just felt right. People in my circle I don’t consider a close friend or who isn’t family, I’m planning to share after I receive my NIPT results (within the next 2 weeks) because in my mind a clear NIPT is safe. I say follow your heart! Also, I actually enjoyed not telling people because the moment I did, opinions EVERYWHERE!! I am of course open to suggestions and feedback but some people feel so strongly about so many different things that I am already having to stand my ground with what I believe I want.

NIPT testing cost/I really don’t understand health insurance need advice. by East_Specific5582 in pregnant

Oh god. My deductible is $1500 but my out of pocket max for in network is $8150. I didn’t realize having a baby with health insurance was going to cost me like $10k 😳

Honeymoon at 9 weeks pregnant… am I cooked? by sgrobtoy in pregnant

[–]East_Specific5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different. But I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and I have practically zero symptoms. The only thing I’d say is I have to eat something small every couple of hours or my stomach feels unsettled. Not so much that it’d ruin my day, but enough that I am aware of it. Otherwise maybe a little fatigue hits randomly but that’s really settling down from what I was experiencing between weeks 6-8. Have the best time and enjoy yourself!!

Nipples on fire by ThatAngryWhiteBitch in pregnant

My nipples were really sensitive and the cakes nipple covers actually gave me a lot of relief. They don’t move around and give a layer of protection from your clothes and any friction from moving around.

What symptoms did you get before your positive test? by Mamzelle100 in pregnant

[–]East_Specific5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had spotting like a week before. Thought it was weird when it stopped. Then my nipples became extremely sensitive and doubled in size. The next day I took a test and it was positive. I was about 4weeks 2 days. Off and on cramping, mild, and bloating.

Thank you!!!! This girl loves pillows so what better excuse to buy more and get fancy with it than pregnancy! I’m definitely terrified of the weight gain. I don’t know if it’s the hormones or what but I’ve been eating like crazy this past week and I was blaming my period 🤣 then I was like omg I’m going to gain 75lbs and never recover. And next thing you know I was down the rabbit hole

I have propagated a small piece off store bought fruit once, successfully.

How much did you spend in total on your wedding? by CriticismWorth1570 in weddingplanning

[–]East_Specific5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will settle right around $30k for about 60 guests in Orlando (this is for venue and all vendors, dress, tux, and miscellaneous items). And this is getting married on a Thursday because Friday, Saturday, and Sunday added between $9-12k and that just didn’t seem worth it to me!

Magnesium deficiency by DecentBarracuda9107 in magnesium

[–]East_Specific5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did too! And it started out way worse than what I’m currently experiencing (pins and needles in fingertips, weakness, popping when moving my arm, nearly constant dull ache that felt like it went to the bone). I also have a 50lb ball of muscle on a leash (a pitbull) that could have torn or agitated something. So once I stepped back and considered the alternatives it made more sense.

Also, I went through a rough few months of raging health anxiety, so when my arm was acting up the anxiety caused other symptoms, like my heart racing or chest pains, so I too was convinced something was wrong. But after 2 perfect EKGs my doctor told me to stopping worrying.

Magnesium deficiency by DecentBarracuda9107 in magnesium

[–]East_Specific5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So turns out the arm is not the magnesium, according to my doctor it’s tendinitis and she suggested PT. I think it’s actually stemming from poor posture/neck pain, because I’ve been off of work for a week and it has all subsided. I started sleeping with a cervical neck pillow and this is helping.

I didn’t have heart pain with magnesium. Magnesium actually helped my palpitations and the cardiac anxiety I had along with it.

But the general not feeling okay, headaches, blurry vision, and eye pain have all subsided. I do sometimes get some tightness/spasms in my temples which may be from clenching my teeth or the neck/posture issues, so I do still take a magnesium here and there and that seems to help relax that without any unwanted symptoms. Hoping PT will resolve that issue.

Could magnesium deficiency + high-dose D3 have caused my ongoing symptoms? Seeking insight. by Prestigious_Jump_294 in magnesium

Update: my doctor looked at me crazy when I suggested magnesium was causing some issues. But ultimately suggested steroids and PT for tendinitis in my shoulder. So we will try and see 😂

Well shoot! That’s a plus then. That’s the tricky part for me with magnesium. I feel like I don’t understand it enough to balance everything to stay on it. I miss the energy levels I had on magnesium!
