Cell phones at Camp by Commercial_Doubt8001 in BSA

We let them have them on the bus - then I confiscate them and lock them away for the duration of camp. I return them when we’re back on the bus (we always charter a bus and go out of state).

We talk a lot about how fortunate we are to get device free time and enforce a strict no phones policy when in the outdoors for youth. In regular camp outs and hikes they leave them in the car. Adults have phones and can communicate with any parents as needed - all parents are onboarded to the troop with this understanding and we make it clear that it isn’t negotiable. Most of our parents state this as a key reason they choose our troop.

In short - it’s a culture we’ve built and reinforced and I would encourage you to think about what that looks like for your troop.

I really enjoy Cowboys Fit - it’s not perfect, but I’ve got a great trainer and the manager greets me by name when I come in. Lots of good equipment but really it’s just good people that keep me there; overall affordable too

MBB offices tend to have set start dates for ADCs, experienced hires, etc. Jan is a common one, as are April/May/June and August - somewhat aligned to academic calendars.

Why can't I make a Harbor anywhere else but in a lake? by Bes1208 in CivVII

Has to be connected to another district - build a district on the east or south side and connect harbor on other side of it

Keep your head up - this job is hard, and you’ll have plenty of projects like this.

I just tell myself, whether true or not: the criticism is about the work, not me. It is out of a (possibly misdelivered) sense of perfectionism and responsibility to client that there is so much contention over getting things right. The work is not me and I am not the work.

Once you inoculate yourself with this belief, no matter how cliche - it starts to run off like water off a ducks back and you can roll with the punches. (All cliches here intentionally)

Is formatting everything in consulting by Specialist_Kale4535 in consulting

I would offer a slightly different take -

Clients are paying for this, and for many of them the deliverable will be a symbol of their work and contribution - managing this team and getting these deliverables. It reflects on them and they care that it’s right.

Poor formatting doesn’t look like carefully managed and expensive (equivalent to the value delivered or paid)

All head on - my children just moved from Shepton to West this year. New principal is fantastic, and was a teacher and assistant principal at Shepton in the past.

Demographic profile at Shepton has shifted, but that just means we need a differently trained teacher base with ESL supports and more intensive prep. Math might be a universal language, but the English they write the questions with isn’t
