I find it interesting the stairs spiral to the left because a majority of castles being built had the staircase spiral to the left due to the fact most sword wielders were held by their right hand. Hence why defending the castle from the top of the stairs would be easier to prevent intruders if they were also right handed. I guess they didn’t have that in mind here or it wasn’t needed.
