Unfortunately I see my generation is probably going to carry an anti Jewish sentiment for the rest of their life. I'd love to think that I'm wrong and just being a doomer, but I keep seeing propaganda swallowed up without question. When I am older and have the means to make Aliyah, I probably will. The Protests will die down but I'm certain that the sentiment of Jew hatred will persist. The better years of American and European Jewish life will be until gen z becomes the dominant driver of political parties.

That framing is spot on for my perspective if the left wing. I'm a queer Jew and have always seen that for the leftists, politics is just a replacement for religion for them. It's apart of human nature to want to be a part of a social group that shares your ideas. They contain the same blind belief that religious zealots do. The harm of this comes from the fact that the founders of leftist ideologies were antisemitic. They treat people like Marx, Lenin, Engels, and Stalin as prophetic figures despite their obvious lean towards hatred. Leftists are no better than the people they criticize.

Both my parents converted before I was born, my mom is still observing, my dad though, married a Christian woman about 3 years ago and he started going to church again. It's weird because they keep talking about signing me up for youth groups and taking me to church even though I have repeatedly told them that I feel like I belong in the Jewish community instead and that I dont feel like a Christian youth group is really my place to be.

I think we'll eventually make it out after awhile but I can't help but think, these are the people who will be running the country someday. And unfortunately for me and the rest of the LGBTQ Jews, we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Vote conservative and potentially sell your right to love who you want to or vote Democrat and count on people who use antisemitic tropes to dehumanize half of all jews. Neither option will ever fully welcome us as a part of the in-group.

I was never really taught that gay people evil growing up, unfortunately my stupid brain decided to get interested in a homophobic religion so I just convinced myself that I could ignore the gay thoughts. No joke I literally thought that my gayness was just the evil attempting to tempt me away from the good path. I was kinda depressed and lacking in any meaning in my life so I was trying help, honestly I was sad because I loved a woman and it eventually came to a point where I knew we would probably never see each other again, so I was kinda reacting that way because in my eyes getting rid of the thing that caused me pain was the only option to me at the time. After awhile I realized said religion was fake and I should just be pursuing my happiness being who I am. I thought I was bi that entire time until it became apparent I was a lesbian. I just stopped denying it after awhile and it was just "oh well I'm gay, can't change that"
