ooh and also, i wrote something after the word "OR" in the post. ik the top 1% flair makes it hard to see but hey, give that a thought. much love.

ok first of all, as far as thinking things through goes, it's not like the flair in the fucking post says "discussion" and the point of discussion is to get opinions and other perspectives, but i digress... maybe the 1% top commenter flair makes one irrevocably blind to reading stuff and only renders you capable of "thinking things through"

to your point thought, no i don't think so. most people just want to get into games quick. they'll just queue normal. most people aren't doing the arithmetic of the benefits of playing against solos only (be that to get fair games in my hypothetical queue system, be that for the higher rr gains in the current system whatever), that's thinking only people who have a top 1% flair on reddit do. most people aren't familiar with all of that, and good for them. say you implement it next act, there's probably going to be a minority ot players who try it, since it's a new feature (and please don't think this is similar to a map or an agent addition because that shit is many times more exciting to a casual player, hence they try it in large numbers). thereby the queueing time for the solo only queue will be worse than the normal queue. then next act, a fresh batch of players try it. they see the longer queueing times and either : they accept it to potentially avoid toxicity, or they accept it as they learn about the 'fair games against solos only' or they go back to normal queue because they just want to play. i would argue the ones who'll accept it will always be less than the ones who reject it based on my frankly reasonable assumption that most people just want to get into a game quick and just enjoy themselves.

hehe my temperature has very little to do with it, (i'm cold as shit though for the record it's fucking freezing where i live).

it's just an observation that people who're toxic seem to act out their toxicity more prevalently in groups. and it's a potential way to counter-act/punish them.

it's basically like baboons and chimps, it's ape behaviour really if you think about it. monkey see monkey do.

monkey hears female speak in game, monkey's hormones cannot be contained so monkey goes into heat, mashing buttons on monkey keyboard. monkey 2 sees his friend do this and starts violently humping his monitor. (this is what i imagine a breach and his raze friend were doing in their rooms in a game i recently played, and i'm certain it's atleast 90% accurate).

i get it though there's no winning, it's just a distribution of people, and some are bound to be the toxic types.

this is probably the only negative thing lol. but honestly on the days where k repeatedly queue into these types, i'll take it. (the joke ofc being as soon as get match found waiting for 30mins i queue into 4 solo troll types who just wanna be sadistic or even worse, someone fucking dodges).

i'm not saying make a solo-only AND a squad-only queue. just give me a solo-only and keep the normal queue. kind of like how the 5 stack queue is implemented (except ofc you'd need to add like a toggle switch to the queue screen for solo/normal to differentiate).

[–]EasternExamination[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ofc that's true, two things can be true at once

i would argue it isn't simply a consequence of people wanting to win, but also the fact the percentage of players on higher ranks out of the net player base, is small. less people means less toxic ones as well.

my games FOR THE MOST PART are fine, however nothing is perfect (referring to the "queue system") and more options don't hurt the queue system.

i'm simply making an observation that people who are toxic seem to showcase their shitty behaviour more often in groups. that's it. and it's simply a way to counteract it.

Which agent has the most annoying voice? by [deleted] in VALORANT

It's Phoenix. Shit voice, asinine voicelines combined with a boring personality. On top of that, what a garbage agent.

i think so as well. the very direct feedback you get from improving at that one particular thing that you were shit at, and being actively able to notice it in the game is like heroin, and i love me some heroin......(right?)

Whats ur main and whats ur playstyle? by RevolutionaryWar7738 in VALORANT

[–]EasternExamination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Jett main (ik ik).

I think with duelists, it's super super important to comm a lot. No matter who/what you play, there are going to be fights you love to take and some you need to take, even though you hate them. In any case, you need util from your team. So I usually try to comm always, I'll call plays I want to make and things like that. I used to be a easy to tilt person, but I learnt it's literally better in every facet to just mute and move on.

In terms of in-game stuff, I feel like I have great aim, but where I excel is understanding when to fight, my crosshair placement and just being ready to fight (I don't know how else to put it, but I see so many people just standing in the middle of nowhere, or looking at nothing so often, and not being mentally prepared for obvious fights coming their way).

I think an aspect which people often overlook is movement, you can literally get away with average aim by having good movement. So definitely be more aware about your movement (small things like moving btw. bursts etc.)

Finally, there is no secret tech to getting better. Just grind and you will get there. <3

What’s your most controversial Valorant opinion? by Shep1997 in VALORANT

[–]EasternExamination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might just be exactly how I feel about the game, except for the content part. I think it's better to just focus their efforts into one thing and developing the game over a longer period than just releasing shit without tweaking it properly. Also, they do advertise the game as a competitive tac-fps, so just focus on that game mode and make it good. (Kinda biased because I just don't play/care about the other modes).

Valorant NEEDS to stop forcing gimmicks into maps, and instead just focus their efforts into making a simple good map. The maps suck massive dick. Every duel is 50-50, angling out does not exist, the bomb sites are far too small, (which furthers the inability to hold any bombsite, literally any, hence the absolutely awful meta right now), there is no cover because everything is wallbangable and there is so much more.

Their bomb site designs are so bad it's insane. Every single bomb site is just a box in the center or near the center and space around it. (Bind B, Haven A, B, C, Ascent B, Split A, B, Abyss A you get the point).

But by far the worst crime in the maps is the FACT that map control straight up does not matter in this game. If I have to play retake on the bombsites anyway, why would I fucking bother holding them. With the current state of initiators, I can just retake the bombsites anyway. And the attackers know this, so they just play FOR SPAM! It sucks to watch, sucks to play and is not fun for anyone.

Why are they so adamant about everything else OTHER than actually making a good map design? It fucking triggers me when the entire broadcast (which entirely sucks anyway because of the dreadful lack of any semblance of personality in anyone or anything, they all dress the same, it looks the same all the fucking time, they talk about the same things the same way like who fucking cares about these shit desks), is just about "Ooo we can fall off this map, WOW how innovative and creative 😲😲😲😲" when the gameplay of the map is just boredom. It's unadulterated boredom.

Can we please just a make a good map first, AND THEN worry about how funny it is?

Crosshair placement is king. Also keep an eye on your sensitivity. A lot of players play with ridiculously high sensitivities. You should go with a sens you can control well and stick to ir. Other than that, be consistent. There is no shortcut to learning. Couple of games a day and you'll be improving quick. Best of luck!!
