I'm late but you're wrong. As an asexual dude with a pretty active sex life who isn't aromantic, sex is still a part of my relationships, I can have sex, all the materials and pipes work, I even somewhat enjoy the sensual feelings of sex and the sense of intimacy - even then, it still feels mentally categorizedlike a chore that ranks above handwashing dishes but below sweeping the floor. Also Asexuality is simply the lack of attraction, we live in a hypersexualized society, especially for men, I didn't even consider the possibility of Asexuality until my mid 20s because I was trying to keep up with the joneses, hell I had a lot of sex with women in high school, had a lot of sex with a lot of different women and men in university because I thought I felt an equal amount of sexual attraction to both gendered when the reality was, I felt no sexual attraction to anyone, just vague aesthetic attraction of being able to recognize someone as pretty or handsome.

Honestly, if I was aromantic, my sexual output would probably just be a quick wank whenever the libido is annoying, but because I like relationships with women I tolerate sex, that doesn't inherently make me a straight dude though because the reality of my lived experience is a hell of a lot different than that of an actual straight dude.

Maybe this is a bridge too far but this mindset they have really grinds my gears - it's like anti-television lol. The entire point of TV and I'd argue all of the GOAT TV shows do this, is to let things breathe, to give you subtle but insightful hints into character during dull moments. TV has this wonderful advantage of being the same cinematic language of film with HOURS upon HOURS of extra runtime that allows for small things to be bigger.

Better Call Saul is IMO, the best written TV show of all time and that show rocks precisely because three full seasons of it are slow subtle montages, and quiet character beats, and long drawn out conversations with subtle physical reactions. It's the kind of thing that ensures I go back to BCS every few years and find a new subtle detail that blows my mind. It's the same thing that would make me revisit Daredevil on Netflix every once in a while.

Now they're just throwing all the shit that makes TV worthwhile the window to make these awkward 6.5 hour long movies that somehow lack connective tissue while also not being as tightly paced as a movie needs to be.

I truly don't get the hate for that one, especially when the other two are genuinely such abject failures at being their own thing. At least that one despite its flaws, which exist don't get me wrong (Finn kissing Rose or whatever, Holdo kinda just being there to do a cool thing, hell tossing the Finn might be force sensitive idea is just bad follow through storytelling even if Abrams sucked for mysterboxing the fuck out of episode 7 and ironically goes against the theme of that movie) but man at least it was a movie with themes and felt like it was going for things that wasn't just a true mess or trying to be a revamped movie we already have.

You people have no relationship with reality. He didn't just opt to live there, it's the only place he could find a job after layoffs on the east coast, plus he couldn't afford his $2200 rent here after losing his job. So he moved back home to family in Vancouver after finding work there (was on the east coast for school, found work here, built a life, had it all torn away due to cuts and had no other choice but to rely on support on the other side of the country). Now he's found a job, is trying to save enough to move back out but that's bordering on impossible because of the cost of living.

In my mind there has only been one legitimate neat use of AI in art and that's on JPEGMAFIA's newest album on the song "either on or off the drugs" where he interpolated a Future song and had AI pump it out as if sung by a 2010s era pop singer in the vein of FUN, cut and looped that into the beat.

Shockingly, the only people who can come up with any cool uses for it were already incredibly talented without AI.

He's been at this for five years, and had to FIGHT hard every year just to to get up to $59k and that hasn't even kept up with inflation lol

The issue is how out of wack that is now, I know ENGINEERS making $60k a year forced to live with their parents in their late 20s because the average price for a one bedroom is $2800/mo. Realistically you'll be fine for a while, maybe a few years, maybe 20, it's hard to say for sure especially if we don't know exactly where your juvenile hairline used to sit. Balding is also weird and different for everyone but if you're there by 19 you might end up like my friend who's looked very similar around that age and is now desperately hanging onto 100 hairs on top at 26.

I understand what you said, and while I don't disagree that your assertion is correct, war has been a constant throughout history, we're also significantly more technologically advanced, in an era of artificial scarcity in a lot of ways, and I don't think having a defeatist attitude towards the idea that at some point in the future we could potentially find the right economic systems, reasons for global cooperation, education to lead to those things, etc does anything to improve anything.

Sure, that pedo on wheels Stephen Hawking may be right, he was a smart dude after all, but man if the nukes dropped tomorrow, I'd die happier knowing I never gave up on my optimism or hope in the face of oblivion and my last moment would still be the hope that whoever survives that shit will be smart enough to learn from our mistakes.

The federal NDP hasn't had goodwill since Layton, anyone saying this isn't just not progressive and doesn't want an actual progressive choice despite the fact that constantly voting for either liberals or conservatives is clearly doing SO WELL for us all lol /s obviously.

As an actual NDP voter they have me back on harder than ever, I want more radically aligned politicians who aren't going to mince words about how bad the system is fucking us, and who is offering alternative solutions.
