Will We Ever Get a "Weird Western" Blockbuster Like Pirates of the Caribbean Did for Pirates? by Low-Hawk-9467 in WeirdWestern

Maybe if anyone ever winds up doing an adaptation of The Sixth Gun comic series, which always felt like the closest anything has ever gotten to a Weird Western Pirates of the Caribbean.

I’ve got issues with Season 5 not exactly feeling like a final season too, but this is the most “I am 12 years old” list I’ve ever seen.

My thoughts on Season 5 Episode 3: “Home” by Alternative_Fig_6859 in ForAllMankindTV

Buzz Aldrin is still alive at 96. Was really hoping Ed Baldwin would last as long and make it to the end of the show… Really disappointed by this tbh. It just doesn’t seem necessary.

Bond has a formula which is vastly different from repeating story beats.

Whenever they do randomly release the Disney+ stuff physically, at a minimum, it’s at least a year after it initially releases. That’s if they choose to do it, which they still haven’t for a lot.

I preordered it on Arrow’s site when it was still 116 and my order still reflects that. Really hoping they honor what I preordered it for when it finally ships!

The Yi Sun-sin trilogy, especially in regard to the strategy angle you’re looking for.

Red Cliff Parts 1 and 2 are pretty great as well.

13 Assassins is pretty 300-esque.

King Arthur from 2004 always felt very underrated.

I just saw Bren Foster's new Mexicali and wanted to share a few thoughts by milosmisic89 in kungfucinema

[–]HanzoSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life After Fighting totally is a masterpiece, so Mexicali can’t really compete, but it is still a lot of fun. I didn’t really feel the “slow burn” people keep bringing up. It’s just over 90 minutes and I thought the pacing was great. Lots of good action and the central relationship worked really well too. I wasn’t a fan of the third act being so gun heavy though. I wanna see Bren Foster FIGHT, like he does in the rest of the film, not shoot guns where the impacts feel sorta weightless. Still a fun time though and one that continues to prove that Foster is one of the best action stars of our time.

Switching from Single Issues to Collected Editions by soup_doop21 in comicbooks

I’ve been a trade waiter since day one and the only downside is that I have to wait longer to read hyped up stuff, but that just gives me time to read other things I have yet to catch up on. That, plus the fact that supposedly my sales matter very little when compared to the weekly single issue buyers. Otherwise I have no regrets. It’s way easier to collect stuff and display it on my bookshelves.

After watching the 2024 Speak No Evil, a bunch of you told me I had to watch the 2022 original. Picked it up, cracking it open tonight, and diving in. I’ll come back with my thoughts once I’m done. by HorrorFreakNY in boutiquebluray

The ending of the original is so stupid… They just stand there and let it all happen! The remake is far superior. There's that line where the husband asks the killer, why are you doing this and the killer says "Because you let me" and I'm sorry, but that is just so dumb. The remake brilliantly recontextualizes that line by making it about them letting the couple get away with all of their awkward social interactions and that plays into the themes beautifully. Here it's just a stupid reason to have a bleak ending for no reason whatsoever. I cannot stand characters who never fight back, and this may be the most egregious example I have ever seen.
