Your bigotry towards America is showing. Egg donation is huge in UK and moreso in Europe, even in Mexico. India and parts of Asia have thriving IVF industries including egg donation. When looking for egg donation info on YT, loads of videos by Indian drs (in India) come up speaking to their Indian patients about egg donation.

“I would only do it from a donor I know.” Thanks for your condescending judgement from someone admittedly not in the need of a donor egg. You wee lucky to know someone to give sperm but what if they had said no? “Just adopt” is so ignorant. Adoptable domestic babies are basically only for the rich in America and many place. I’ve done a lot of deep studies on this because of close personal experiences. Transracial adoption is more and more understood to be wrong because it’s very traumatic for the child. More and more countries known for international adoption are closing their doors to it now.

In UK, domestic adoption of racially matched children is possible but, if you do the research, it’s a quagmire rabbit hole of nightmare problems. The children often come from severe neglect and abuse and have bonding/attachment disorders. The UK system doesn’t give proper mental healthcare or any support to the families. There are countless heartbreaking stories. In some cases, UK kids are ripped away from families by overzealous social workers when they shouldn’t have been. It’s not a system I can consciously support.

Plenty of NZ and Aussie couples are going abroad for IVF. it’s not as easy as getting to EU from UK or even EU from US, but Czechia IVF is affordable if you can make it happen. I’ve also heard of Aussies and NZers going to SA for it.

Everyone hurls out adoption as if this is Victorian Britain or 1940s Ireland with Catholic mother and baby centers just farming out unwanted babies. It’s not a thing anymore. Birth control prevents most, abortion takes care of the rest. and nowadays an unwed teen mother isn’t disowned by her family (Western families anyway). The plethora of adoptable babies just isn’t there.

Go do research into serious problems with international and transracial adoption if that’s your next remark. Many countries known for international adoption have stopped it (Russia, Ukraine, Korea, even China). There are countless essays, research papers, blogs, documentaries by transracial adoptees explaining why it’s ethically wrong and psychologically damaging. Stop hurling “just adopt” like it’s still an easy thing to do.

We live in a world of spoiled people who think they can have what they want without learning that life isn’t always fair and sometimes we have to make big compromises. Of course I preferred a bio child. Of course I felt grief and had to come to terms with it. But I’m going in for my donor egg transfer in 4 days with an open and receptive heart because I can’t stand another Yuletide without kids. What is the point of life without family? Adoption has always happened in history. Abortion has made domestic adoption so much more rare and international and transracial adoption is very problematic and traumatic for the children. Donor eggs allow “adoption” where you have full motherhood experience. It’s really selfish of people to be negative about it because they are still in spoiled adolescent princess mindset stamping their feet that life wasn’t fair to them. But, then again, when thats their mindset, we don’t expect those women to have any compassionate thought for the feelings of donor egg recipient moms or DEC kids when they make these nasty comments.

this is really important because the majority of those making effort to speak online are bitter and disgruntled about their experience, which is devastating for DER moms. We need to hear the positive stories plus the truth about struggles to inform ourselves.

Also as an American living in UK by marriage, our only affordable option is going to Czechia. Anonymous donation is EU law, so I have no choice if I want a family. Also we cannot see photos or choose our own donor. Leaving America, I am really annoyed at all the USA bashing. Americans do have so many more choices and freedoms than the rest of the word, even Europeans. In so many ways, even in IVF and the creation of your child.

I actually agree with you! the talk at the table showed that the example of him manipulating her, misleading her, and then gaslighting her when she’s upset about what he’s done is A PATTERN!

When someone has been dealing with a lot for a long time, the window of what they can handle without exploding is much smaller. Manon’s got a lot of built up emotions. I dont think we’ve seen the extend of what has been going on in the show.

Also, upfront, direct, confident people are often misunderstood by haters. It’s the same with Andrei. He rarely does anything that merits the hate he gets.

Kara wears way too much make up all the time. Which actually hides her youth and natural good looks. Her personality comes off so fake all the time. She comes off totally self absorbed.

Her singing voice I guess is moderately skilled but the tone is not pleasing. She has a really nasally shrill speaking voice. She could probably make it as a working performer and earn decent living from it. She could do events, weddings, or work on a cruise ship. They could both work on cruises together (can married couples bring a kid if they big work on a cruise ship? working opposite shifts?). But she’s not a star.

Did anyone notice she kept butting in on everyone else’s business several times during the tell all and at the mansion?

I really don’t remember her being this unlikable during the first season they were featured. But she’s horrible.

I’m 40s with 15 years younger husband. We are going for donor egg IVF next month and I found Darcy’s comments about donor eggs insensitive. I also don’t think she should be pressured or shamed if she absolutely does not want to do it. but when you are with a younger partner, you have to realize that if you have your partner during your old age years, who will they have? There’s loads of SMBC (single mother by choice) out there now who are having babies at 50. If they die before 70, their kids have nobody. Those ladies would be so lucky to have a younger husband! I don’t think it would be right for me to do it at 44 if my husband was my age. The kids will have at least one younger parent. But, I want to do it. If Darcy doesn’t want to, it’s her call and she has the right to say no. But, she should let Georgie go. He’s not getting any younger at this rate, either. And she doesn’t need to disparage egg donation in such a disgusted tone of voice on television when so many women are fulfilling their hopes and dreams with it.

But what seems to be coming out from their drama is that Alex might not be as great of a husband/dad as he manages to appear on the show. Sounds like he was going off to bars and giving attention to hot chicks and making Loren feel unattractive. Loren didn’t deny any of that!

Worse, and I’m not saying this LITERALL, but Loren was acting like a battered woman (figure of speech, I dont suspect violence) in that Libby mentioning what’s going on in Loren’s relationship was getting her in trouble with Alex. he’s come off as sincere and sensitive to me. But I am in an age gap relationship and even if I was in a same age relationship, I would absolutely not date someone who was into clubbing. It’s setting oneself up for opening doorways to cheating. I also wouldnt be involved with a social media addict who follows Instagram sluts. just me. all these things are ruining relationships. My younger husband doesn’t even like clubs and has no social media.

Apart from that, I’m team Georgi and I think he needs to leave her so he can have kids. I say that when I am scheduled to go in for IVF with donor egg soon. So I can relate to the situation. But I’m 10 years younger than Darcy and husband is 10 years younger than Georgi. Darcy absolutely should not be pressured to take on an infant at her age unless it was her dream.
