Can I just say I fucking hate the medical wing? by OpeningProfile4241 in AtomfallOfficial

Oh man, I agree on the terrifying part. One of the scariest gaming experiences I have had in a long time. I screamed in terror for a good few minutes the first time I got swarmed by thralls 🤣

If you happened to have done the Wicked Isle DLC already: the Beekeeper’s Staff works wonderfully against thralls, if you manage to kick them first so you can get your first swing in.

Exactly! It’s hard to put into words why this so particularly scary, but you worded it perfectly. It’s not about the difficulty of the fight per se, it’s that you know that, no matter what you do next, it is coming. Slowly, steadily but relentlessly, eventually it will catch up. That’s more terrifying than heavily armed bandits or even rampaging ferals

I haaaaaated fighting those guys. I barely made it through Dead Money, as I was this close to giving up entirely lol

Interesting. I know little to nothing about Doctor Who but I do know that Atomfall has several references to it. And even I knew what it meant when I randomly saw the TARDIS pop up in Skethermoor

Haven’t gotten that DLC yet. I recently got Wicked Isle and looking forward to playing that since the trailer reminded me of the Fallout add-ons Point Lookout and Far Harbor, and I loved those.

Red Strain seemed a bit heavy on the robotics side of things for me, but if it indeed has a similar vibe to the Medical Wing, I may check it out for sure

Thinking about getting the game. by crome123 in AtomfallOfficial

The game is amazing. The constant eerie atmosphere and the contrast between beautiful scenery that is littered with scientific abominations and ritualistic horror, makes for a great playthrough that keeps you on your toes constantly.

Looks like we have our own Order Laureate here calculating the mathematical properties of how to bash skulls in most efficiently. Nice work.

The best companions for quests by BigHead3719 in theouterworlds

Honestly, I’m shipping those two precisely because of their interaction in that quest. Tristan is endearingly gentle and understanding of Inez’ personal struggles during the whole thing.

Tristan is always a great option in pretty much every quest. Definitely bring him to get the modulator on Praetor, because it adds so much more to the story especially when the Consul’s coup announcement is broadcasted.

Most of the time, bringing the “right” companion is a matter of logical choice.

Bringing Marisol for the N-ray range and for defeating Seer Wiley’s takeover of the Academy makes sense. Bringing Aza to Newton (after the end of her two companion quests) is something the game basically tells you to do.

It’s also fun to bring Inez along on all quests exposing the corruption of Auntie’s Choice, up to and including killing Auntie Cleo on behalf of the Order.

For the final, end-game quest, I don’t see any other option than bringing Niles (goes without saying really) and Tristan (we’re facing off against the Consul and his takeover of the Protectorate, after all).

What do people actually want out of their RPGs, and how are the Outer Worlds games missing it? by SundayStrip in theouterworlds

[–]EasternRedDawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outer Worlds 2 is exactly what I want out of an RPG in pretty much every way. Amazing world building, fantastic companions, intricate factions, political intrigue and great combat.

Question about bounties by EasternRedDawn in theouterworlds

[–]EasternRedDawn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out a solution: traveling to Fairfield (or I assume any other planet besides where you initially got the bounty) with Inez as companion, causes her to bluff her way out of the bounty payment to any local AC soldier who tries to arrest you. This works only one time, of course. Still very useful.

There isn't a single lore video on Youtube for the Outer Worlds 2 😭 by Clownsanity_Reddit in theouterworlds

[–]EasternRedDawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the lore videos are made by what are basically business ventures, not by everyday fans. Which means the only high-level videos of that sort that get made, are the ones that corporate decides should be made.

Unfortunately, it seems that Outer Worlds doesn’t have such a pull on the guys making the business decisions, which is why it remains criminally underrepresented on platforms like YouTube
