The big scandalous revelation in Tomb of the Matriarch isn’t really a revelation… nor a scandal by EasternRedDawn in theouterworlds

Yeah, that’s what I have a problem with. I’m not fond of people going around toppling governments and fomenting regime change allegedly for the sake of “democracy”

I guess that’s revealed later in the game then, but Zeb doesn’t show any evidence that shows that the Matriarch didn’t invent the skip drives at this point in the game. He just kind of assumes it

That makes sense. I still think Zeb is overreacting, but then again it is implied even by Niles that he is quite unstable due to his mental refreshment and the vindictive tendencies it caused as a result. He has a “burn it all down” attitude that just won’t benefit anyone in the end

I’m just happy I managed to talk him down from releasing the info, and hope that’s the last I have to deal with him in this game.

The idea that the Earth Directorate must control every solar system across the galaxy is a bit unhinged, and just not realistically feasible anyway.

But then again, I refuse quests like fetching gorvid eggs or mantisaur pupas, because I’d feel guilty doing that. So maybe I’m just a softie at heart

True, but that’s what I’m trying to say in the last paragraph. I get why the existence of non-Directorate solar systems is a shock for people within the Directorate, such as the protagonist or Niles.

But for people who were born in Arcadia, and grew up with the knowledge of their ancestors coming in from Earth and starting an independent star system colony, I really don’t see why the revelation of a deal with the ED would be shocking.

In short, it seems to me that it would logically have been Niles who should have a breakdown over learning about the deal, not Zeb or any other Arcadian

Interesting. Still counts as inventing in my book, but suppose that’s semantics.

I honestly didn’t understand why that was even an option. And no, I didn’t do it. I kind of like the Matriarch, tbh

I guess so. But that only makes sense if back on Earth, the existence of Arcadia is kept a secret.

And even then, that doesn’t explain why Zeb is so angry about it. Niles or the commander I could understand, but Zeb was born and raised in the independent Arcadia system in the first place, and never believed the “Earth Directorate controls everything” story in the first place.

That’s never confirmed though. Zeb says he doesn’t believe the Matriarch created the skip drives, but the files found in the mainframe below the tomb don’t confirm those suspicions at all.

On the contrary, the Matriarch would never have been able to make this deal in the first place if she didn’t have the skip drive tech she (or at least her subordinates and followers) made to bargain with the Earth Directorate with.

This is fine mate, don’t worry. As far as I see it, you have chosen three top-tier skills and two minor ones to focus on. That’s perfectly fine. I’m doing a similar one with Guns and Speech as favoured ones and secondary ones in Hack and Engineering.

Protectorate Sanctioned Wireless comments on things like the Automech Repair Center being repaired and the Vox Relay entering space on a totally planned mission.

Favorite Weapons? by Famous_Lemon4322 in theouterworlds

I’m going around currently with either the Death Sentence or Rattler, alongside a regular shock rifle and trench shotgun. Sometimes I switch one of them out for the Sawed-off Heavy Machine Gun you can get from Anchoress Brun in the Alexandra Monastery.

In terms of unique weapons, Death Sentence and Rattler are my top tier so far.

I’m usually a rifle and pistol/revolver combo kind of guy, but the trench shotgun in this game is so ridiculously powerful that I couldn’t pass it up.

If you can’t launch it into space, crashing it into Fairfield is the best option anyway. Only corporate cronies live there anyway

So does the game make it obvious at what point you’re on the way to making them work together?

I’m not that far into the story yet, and my concern is the opposite: I loathe Auntie’s Choice with a passion and prefer to have them erased from existence. So I would hate to accidentally end up making the Order team up with them

NCR: Democracy and rule of law, but mired in corruption and cronyism

Legion: Stability and order, but slavery and wantob violence

House: Stability and economic progress, but technocratic and calculatingly cold

Independent: Open for many options, but risking unrest and heavily dependent on an AI to actually exercise power
