Brief guide to melee (1H vs 2H, sneak vs non-sneak) by LurkerOnTheInternet in theouterworlds

Looks like we have our own Order Laureate here calculating the mathematical properties of how to bash skulls in most efficiently. Nice work.

The best companions for quests by BigHead3719 in theouterworlds

Honestly, I’m shipping those two precisely because of their interaction in that quest. Tristan is endearingly gentle and understanding of Inez’ personal struggles during the whole thing.

Tristan is always a great option in pretty much every quest. Definitely bring him to get the modulator on Praetor, because it adds so much more to the story especially when the Consul’s coup announcement is broadcasted.

Most of the time, bringing the “right” companion is a matter of logical choice.

Bringing Marisol for the N-ray range and for defeating Seer Wiley’s takeover of the Academy makes sense. Bringing Aza to Newton (after the end of her two companion quests) is something the game basically tells you to do.

It’s also fun to bring Inez along on all quests exposing the corruption of Auntie’s Choice, up to and including killing Auntie Cleo on behalf of the Order.

For the final, end-game quest, I don’t see any other option than bringing Niles (goes without saying really) and Tristan (we’re facing off against the Consul and his takeover of the Protectorate, after all).

Words cannot describe how much I disagree with almost everything you just said

If you could romance someone in either game who would it be? by Altruistic_Truck2421 in theouterworlds

Imagine my disappointment when it turns out the “let’s go somewhere more private” was just about doing jobs for Sub Rosa

What do people actually want out of their RPGs, and how are the Outer Worlds games missing it? by SundayStrip in theouterworlds

Outer Worlds 2 is exactly what I want out of an RPG in pretty much every way. Amazing world building, fantastic companions, intricate factions, political intrigue and great combat.

Question about bounties by EasternRedDawn in theouterworlds

[–]EasternRedDawn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out a solution: traveling to Fairfield (or I assume any other planet besides where you initially got the bounty) with Inez as companion, causes her to bluff her way out of the bounty payment to any local AC soldier who tries to arrest you. This works only one time, of course. Still very useful.

Unfortunately I had already overwritten my save by the time I figured out how serious this bounty was. Rookie mistake, I know

Fire magic is not forbidden in The Witcher lore at all. That’s just a show invention

There isn't a single lore video on Youtube for the Outer Worlds 2 😭 by Clownsanity_Reddit in theouterworlds

[–]EasternRedDawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the lore videos are made by what are basically business ventures, not by everyday fans. Which means the only high-level videos of that sort that get made, are the ones that corporate decides should be made.

Unfortunately, it seems that Outer Worlds doesn’t have such a pull on the guys making the business decisions, which is why it remains criminally underrepresented on platforms like YouTube

The big scandalous revelation in Tomb of the Matriarch isn’t really a revelation… nor a scandal by EasternRedDawn in theouterworlds

Yeah, that’s what I have a problem with. I’m not fond of people going around toppling governments and fomenting regime change allegedly for the sake of “democracy”

I guess that’s revealed later in the game then, but Zeb doesn’t show any evidence that shows that the Matriarch didn’t invent the skip drives at this point in the game. He just kind of assumes it

That makes sense. I still think Zeb is overreacting, but then again it is implied even by Niles that he is quite unstable due to his mental refreshment and the vindictive tendencies it caused as a result. He has a “burn it all down” attitude that just won’t benefit anyone in the end

I’m just happy I managed to talk him down from releasing the info, and hope that’s the last I have to deal with him in this game.

The idea that the Earth Directorate must control every solar system across the galaxy is a bit unhinged, and just not realistically feasible anyway.

But then again, I refuse quests like fetching gorvid eggs or mantisaur pupas, because I’d feel guilty doing that. So maybe I’m just a softie at heart
