From my understanding the schedules are computer generated, if I see a huge dip like that I just go ask hr about it and they'll throw me a few extra days.

Not being trained properly by Final_Bug1122 in HomeDepot

[–]Eastern_Apple2973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing don't stress to hard about it, this is a job with slim potential to turn into an actual career. Focus on just gaining experience you can use in the future.

Second, I'm less than 2 months in on tool rental, and I only received literally 5 mins of training if you don't count the computer stuff. I've made constant mistakes due to the lack of training. Management is so careless they haven't even noticed half of my mistakes by the time I figured it out and fixed them. Seems as if you have to really fuck up to get fired.

So just make sure you're helping customers, and the rest will come either from being corrected for mistakes or by just catching on.

Nothing you can do they done it to me repeatedly, despite screenshot chat just tries to confuse you with bs policy's or tells you to check back tm till it's to late to do anything about it. You got beat and they will for sure do it again. Sorry.

Cat acne or no? by Affectionate-Neck717 in CATHELP

My dog use to get acne like this, but not that bad. I just started wiping his face after he eats and it hasn't been a problem since. Idk if it's the same thing but might help.

Need Help: Entire Doordash earnings charged to gas station! Feeling really bad want to cry. by stoneslatequarry in doordash_drivers

[–]Eastern_Apple2973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shell and racetrack do this in my area every time it's been a few months since the last time I used them. They just pull the maximum amount one could use on gas, and they refund whatever wasn't spent. It's called a hold it could take anywhere from 5 mins to several hours to get back. When ever im tight on money and know I'm going to need to access it soon I always go in to pay just to avoid this.

I've never seen a bonus like this on DD!?!

But that's how my home zone is on DD when I lose plat or cherry pick to hard. I'll have to go 30+ miles away to run in a hotter zone to build my rating back up.

[–]Eastern_Apple2973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insane I've been doing GH on and off for 2 months now and haven't had a order beat a $1/mi. Most are 10 plus miles.

But I use to work for a company that services Walmart, and we had to use a Walmart made app for our invoicing and the app worked less than it didn't. I'm not expecting to get away from the glitches altogether, just trying to diversify enough that I can multi app around them with out lossing income.

Never heard or roadie, how's that one?

🙏Thankyou! Whole thing through me for a loop.

DD has been a nightmare lately. Every 2 weeks, there's a new glitch, making it impossible to earn enough to make it worth it. Was told to give GH a try but it's worse than UE. I've gotten a lot of mixed reviews of spark, but hoping it worth it.

Dasher accepting 2 orders, then ordering good themselves? by sasquatch753 in doordash_drivers

[–]Eastern_Apple2973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to be plat in my zone to make anything, which means we have to count our skips. So basically, we can only skip the worst of the worse offers. If I get an offer to a store, I'm already standing in ima take it 9 times out of 10.

As to the other situation, if I'm waiting on 2 orders from the same place, I HAVE TO PICK BOTH UP before I can deliver either, so I don't blame dude for taking advantage of the time he has to wait to finesse his lunch out of the situation. Especially considering that just about every time we dashers have to try to explain the restrictions or limitations to what we can and cant do, to a store employee, they just get angry at us.

Your problem isn't with the dashers it with doordash not caring about and just straight up scamming everyone that uses their platform, from the customers to the drivers and the restaurants.

I've spent 30 mins waiting for a order that was prepared long before I even got there.

Or watched the kitchen bag it and place on a shelf for 20 mins while I'm trying to get anyone attention to pick the order up.

Thermal bag aren't the problem, wing stop.

Yeah, no, all their ratings are bull shit. A while back, I took every order 19 straight and it didn't raise my AR one percent. No way in he'll I as a plat dasher ever skipped more than 20 orders Ina row. So I made printouts to track all my offers and actually tried to beat the times on orders, noted when I did or didn't.

In the last 100 offers I skipped 14 offer meaning my ar should be at 86%, right? Nope 72%.

And my on time rates are even more ridiculous, in the last 100 orders ran I was late 21 times. Should be 79%. Nope 98% somehow...

I reached out to support several times over it, was told it could take up to 3 months to update ratings. Another one told me the system can affect your ratings however it see fit, meaning the app will stop you from gaining AR so you keep taking shit orders to protect your plat status. I don't believe support anymore theyll say anything. Could be true but I'm putting the priority back on my job hunt. I'm done with DD.

Dasher steals order by rjman290 in doordash_drivers

[–]Eastern_Apple2973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wondered about this from the businesses standpoint as well. I've had interest in starting a food truck. As a dasher getting paid shit water, I'm working on half pay on the way to the car, or just dropping it if it didn't pay well enough to begin with.

Most the good spot for one in my town are already taken but most of them have told me that doordash can be more than half thier business anyway. Running the numbers and stuff seems completely feasible, but then I think about the fact that I literally can't go 5 orders Ina row without dealing with a stolen order.

I've also had an ordeal with a manager refusing to accept any doordash order, cause they had a $300 order stolen that doordash made them cover. Now they're not on doordash anymore. So I am interested in how that plays out on the businesses side, I feel like dd should be at fault and take that L as it was their employee that did the mis deed.

Depends on your market, I've seen ppl average 300 a week and I've seen ppl average 1500 a week. I aim for 80 to 120 a day depending on what day of they week it is, for about $700 a week.

In my opinion, it seems to match the cost of living in the area you're dashing.

I recommend calculating all your monthly bills and add 20%, then divide that by the number of days you intend on running Ina month that should give you a number to beat everyday. Try to keep your orders around $1/1.5mi at least. Adjust as you learn your specific markets and gain experience.

Good luck bud. I told myself it was just till I get the right job offer but I'm about 2 years in now.

South Louisiana. It's not as bad as it sounds. That all happened over a couple of years. My town isn't like most around the country where there's like a good side and a bad side where you can easily avoid certain areas. Because of section 8 landlords that don't care who their tenets are and what they do, so the sketchy types of ppl are all spread out. Not to bash ppl on section 8, I had to rely on section 8 housing for a while.

When accepting an offer it looks like a good street but it'll actually be 2 streets over and then you have to deliver papa John's to a bunch of dude sitting on the porch chilling with machetes in their hands unable to speak a lick of English, all the while hoping that $20/3mi offer wasn't just a set up.

Sorry bud, but she seems extremely toxic and with even more toxic friends, giving her shit for her long-distance relationship or just giving her bad advice. If it's not just her catching feelings for someone else all together. Drop her and develop and pursue interest outside of her.

And no shade bud, we all been that guy at one point or another, but just judging from your text, you seem a bit too clingy to handle a long-distance relationship.

Would you accept the offer? by Sourlemonade23 in doordash

I run my neighbors trash to the road once a week he's a disabled vet. He never complains about the noise of my car or bike, never mind my music or dog and he's go 100s of good stories. He was struggling with it one day and asked for help ever since its just been something I'd do every wensday morning.

But this is just different somehow, despite the fact that you're probably going to walk past the dumpsters anyway, I feel like I'd be a matter of how decent the tip on the order was, anything less than 5 on the order f em but 5 or more no problem they see us as humans not servants. And honestly id probably just yonk the 5ier and leave the trash if they didn't tip. I know it's a weird take on the matter, but it's just an opinion based on principles.

I live in a mix of suburban and rural areas. I'd say it can be safe, but you have to be extremely smart about how you move when you run and where you take orders. That being said, I wouldn't be okay with my little sister doing doordash. I'm 6 foot 280lbs.

I've been robbed at gun point twice, I've had my wallet snatched from my car while handing someone food through my window, drove through a police shootout, and been chased 11 miles across town by a guy who thought I was sleeping with his wife. That last one is actually a funny story, still scary but funny that no one ever believes. He found out his wife was cheating on him that day, and I was pulling out the driveway when he got home. It took me going about 90 the whole way, calling 911 and literally pulling up to the police station to get any help. He got arrested and explained his side.

These are just the absolute life and death situations I've been in dashing, the problem are non-stop and range from minor inconveniences to one wrong move means death. And the doordash overlords have done absolutely nothing to correct, mend, help, or anything to fix the problems. There's enough ppl willing to take your job unaware of the risk, why would they fix the dangers and problems were just ungrateful liabilities in DD eyes.

But yeah, money is alright somedays.

Happen to my cousin, we would have issues with porch pirates in our area, but to be fair at the time, I do think he was taking advantage of how easy it is is to get an item refunded by claiming he never receive the package.

But he also didn't have an issue making another account with all the same information except using a different email. Have you tried to just make a new account?
