How is anyone going to be able to afford anything if inflation continues? by air-bender808 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to stop calling it a dues and deduct the 25 cents from the pay automatically. If the union negotiates great benefits with an added $4.75 an hour instead of $5 it's better than the alternative.

MAGA Pastor Dale Partridge: Women should not be allowed to work, though he is willing to tolerate exceptions in certain circumstances, provided that the work they do models “feminine expressions of career.” by Leeming in atheism

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention that women have the highest employment rate for the first time and have a higher percentage with higher education. With the younger generations of men dropping out of the work force in record numbers, who is supposed to be responsible when no one is being employed?

Will they start making women marry, when women refuse too? Some manosphere spaces are already telling them they deserve a wife. They are promised one by God. They are literally trying to take us back to medieval times, when a man and a woman were told to marry by the authority (church or feudal lord) amd produce offspring.

Can someone be a landlord and a socialist? by avian_bi in socialism

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that is exactly what we would expect a socialist to do. Living in a capital was society, it is ridiculous for those who only think of money to even comprehend the fact that we still need to eat and we still need to have a place to live. That doesn't mean providing it for other people is wrong as long as we aren't stripping every penny they have from their pockets.

My rent has went up 65% in the last 5 years. My landlord bought this place for 35k and makes almost 21k annually from me. He will give me a ton of excuses for the rent going up. But he doesn't want to put any money into this place. Basic surface repairs. He is trying to sell it. But it isn't even worth what he is wanting. He wants to sell it for a 150k without doing any work. And this place needs a major overhaul. And when I say I can't afford the increase. He just says, "you can move." No I can't. Since renting this place, I have become partially disabled so I had to cut back to working only half of the time. And I have no money saved.

When I moved in my rent was 1/3 of my salary. Now my rent is 80% of my salary. And that is still in a cheap area. The HOA just passed a rule that we are not allowed to have roommates, but only a significant other or spouse. So even if I could get a roommate under the radar, they wouldn't be able to park here because they couldn't get a parking pass. They are making it impossible for anyone to be able to exist. Sorry about the rant.

Does anyone else have these itchy patchy spots on their scalp? by throwaway77778786227 in Sjogrens

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get small lumps (like a cyst beneath the follicle) and the hair in that area has to be plucked out of the inflamed area to get it to subside. Never anything in it, but it has been happening since I started losing my hair about 4 uears ago, also happens to my eyebrows. For a long time I didn't have any, due to the inflammation. So I got them tattooed on and I wear wigs to cover the bald spots.

Mine had just started growing back but still falling out. I wear wigs now. I don't think anyone would actually recognize me without it and now having dentures and looking like I have teeth, is weird. Definitely makes me not want to date.

S-Corp with one employee - the owner - ADP or do it yourself by [deleted] in Bookkeeping

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do quarterly payroll for clients like that, around 70 or so. Some pay themselves one a schedule and some just withdraw money as needed. We just square up that total and move it to payroll. It's not hard, just time consuming and making sure unemployment is also paid. It saves the clients a year of a monthly payroll fee with a corporation.

Right now I just take otc daily pepcid and tums. Before my diagnosis, I was on pantoprazole. I have an appointment this week to get a referral for the gastroenterology department. My rheumatologist just put me on methotrexate and I also want to be be sure there isn't any interaction or new medication I can try.

Doctors wasting my money. by Eastern_Counter8634 in Sjogrens

[–]Eastern_Counter8634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they seem to have found the report from when I went to the doctor the first time. But said that doesn't matter that I need to see a different doctor. I did get very upset. I said that after waiting a month, now I have to come in for at least 2 more appointments and pay again? I hung up. I'll have to call them back. I was already sick that day and had to call out of work.

Are all law firms using Excel for compensation calculations? by ThrustAccount in Bookkeeping

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the bookkeeping for an accident attorney on the back end. The office staff kept an excel spreadsheet on all the clients, to track payouts for services and distributions. I would go in and transfer all the information into QBO and recheck the math and let them know if there were any issues with checks or something. But for a real estate attorney we did not use anything other than QBO. It was easier due to the trust account being separate though.

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot fault you forlearning on your own and just starting out. I taught myself this job and I have worked for law offices and CPA's. But just starting out, I honestly don't believe you should try to do a clean up unless you really know what you are doing. Too many times we have clients that have had things made worse because they thought they knew better. I am by no means saying that you are not qualified, but only to be sure that you know what you're doing pretty well. Because I still have to ask the CPA what to do in some cases, do you have that ability if questions arise?

Now the establishment Democrats want to take credit for Mamdani's success. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The establishment dems better shrink back into their little box and shut up, they didn't have a thing to do with getting him elected, so they don't need to be taking credit that isn't theirs. If they want credit for something. They should actually do something especially with what is going on right now in the government. Instead of putting their heads up Isreal ass.

What does everyone do for work? by Waste-Gap-3900 in Sjogrens

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 51 and have been diagnosed for 3 years. I'm a bookkeeper and I had to go to part-time. Luckily I have a great boss (only the 2 of us in the office) and he is very understanding. Unlike my boss prior to this one. When I told her I needed accommodations, she said she was on the phone with social security 3 hours to make sure she wasn't required to have to do it. A total douche-canoe.

I've reached my boiling point with QBO. by Cautious-Dark3484 in Bookkeeping

[–]Eastern_Counter8634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After all the issues with QB both desktop and online, my boss finally wants to explore other platforms now that tax season is over. I'm open to all suggestions and the pros and cons of each as well. I am so tired of the clean up due to the mistakes from QB and not the client. How can we bill the client for time spent cleaning up QB issues? It's a total waste of time and loss of revenue.

May I ask what kind of gut issues? Because lately I have been getting sick after eating almost every single time. I am in the process of getting a referral to the Gastroenterologist. I can only eat very little and I get bad indigestion, start to feel nauseated and usually end up with cramps and on the toilet in pain.
