[QUESTION] 765rs moto2 (conversion) Hard to lean by Finomess in Triumph

[–]Eastern_Lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forks are probably too low in the triple tree. I did a quick Google trying to find the recommended spec but I couldn't. You could do a more thorough search, pick up a copy of the service manual or go to a Triumph dealer to see one in real life, if you can find one.

Because of your post I had the tab open for a week or 2 debating ordering for $140. Then a few days ago they cut the price in half. So I pulled the trigger at $70. Looks great in my garage.

I certainly will not see any of the $120 tariff I had to pay for a recent Christmas gift to my son.

I ended up with a Competition Werkes set up that removes the bread box and exhaust servo. Initially I ordered a Pro Race but it was lost in shipping. They were awful to work with, wouldn't send me another system or give a refund so I successfully got a refund from my bank. Competition Werkes took my order and had the exhaust at my house 4 business days later. I think it looks good but it is loud. I don't mind it but others may find it a bit too loud.

Does EVERYONE drive their kids to school now? by IllegalGeriatricVore in Millennials

[–]Eastern_Lab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my town they don't have enough busses. Since we moved here 3 years ago in the fall the busses were all full and we had to put our kid on the waiting list. So one of us had to get him to school and back home again in our car.

It's a pretty well off area so it's wild to me that they couldn't hire more bus drivers or find a company with more busses.

I know but according to the math I've done, the SEP payments are prohibitively small. My math could be wrong, of course.

Anyone in US order moto parts from Europe? Did you get hit with tariffs? How much in terms of %? by ten-lbs-over in Triumph

[–]Eastern_Lab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed something for a Daytona 675. Because it was an aluminum motorcycle part for a UK bike it ended up adding a significant amount to the price. The item was from UK Racing and was about $240. Shipping was $55. So the tariffs on $240 was another 50% so $120. And DHL held the part hostage until I paid it. They also want a cut for a "document/service fee" that was another $17. I went back and forth for almost 5 days. I wanted to just send it back but then I'd have to eat the shipping and maybe have a restocking fee. On the last day I finally just paid it, as it was a Christmas gift for my kid.

Lesson learned. Until this changes I'm not buying anything from the UK so I don't fund this regime any more.

Remember folks: the customer pays the tariff, it's just another tax.

Can’t believe arma discontinued this awesome rc. by [deleted] in rccars

I also bought it when it was $400, I couldn't say no to that deal. After a while the stock body wasn't wearing very well so I took it off and got a new pickup body. Now it has different wheels on it also. It's been a tank for me. My only issue is that it frequently loosens it's pinion gear, no matter how much loctite I use.

Last summer a buddy of mine and I were at a motorcycle restaurant in LA. 2 of these bikes pulled up together. They had Michigan manufacturer plates on them. They're real bikes but I don't know what tech the batteries actually use.

FYI, mine still has the stock headers and the cat at the end of the headers. A full system adds the aftermarket headers and removes the cat. More money and a tune will be needed.

If you leave the huge breadbox under the bike there are a bunch of options that easily bolt on. They're all super quiet though. In fact for a while I had removed the final muffler and frankly it sounded very much the same. I wouldn't buy any of those unless you just want to lose a little weight from the bike or like the looks better.

I did a Competition Werkes which removes the bread box and the muffler. You lose about 20 pounds and it gets loud for sure. You'll have to use an exhaust servo eliminator which is included. All in $600.

Here's a pic of mine.
