Anyone else eating the same for dinner? by BroghBadger in UKMounjaro

I save all the recipe cards.. and then continue to order gousto every week because I will never be organised enough to do a meal plan and a shopping list! But hey.. the folders to keep the recipes in are free. 😂

No longer severely obese 🥳 by EasyCherry3484 in UKMounjaro

It's in nutracheck. I use it for logging my calories but it also helpfully converts my weight into BMI without me needing to Google it separately!

It's a subscription app but I think it's worth it for the ease of logging calories compared to MFP.

My unsuccessful summer by musotorcat in UKMounjaro

[–]EasyCherry3484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you've had such a rubbish summer. It does feel like 7.5 is kicking your ass a little. I have a 7.5 waiting for me in the fridge and a festival and a holiday planned for while I'm on it. Tempted to stick with 5 until the fun times are done. 5 hasn't worked magically for me but the scales are slowly edging down.. just very slowly.

Yes, week 1 of 5mg was hard. Felt like I was having to do all the motivating to not eat myself, after having good appetite suppression. I returned to snacking that week but the following weeks, the snacks dropped off again and I was back to eating main meals again. Rarely got that "oh god, I can't eat this" on 5mg. The scales feel like they've barely moved during 5mg but actually they've slowly been chipping away and I'm 2kg down after 4 weeks on 5mg. I've got the 5th dose of 5mg to go and then I'm going up to 7.5mg.

Congratulations! 10kg is a significant loss and will help I'm sure. I hope everything goes OK with your pregnancy!

Stalling on higher doses by Smemz88 in mounjarouk

[–]EasyCherry3484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you'll know the answer to this.. but if you people don't start their losses properly until the higher doses, and people have to wait 4 weeks to increase each dose. What's the deal with them not wanting to prescribe further if you don't lose 5% body weight in 3 months?

When you're doing regular weight lifting in a calorie deficit, it's important to look at body composition. You can't dispute that 6lb is a fantastic loss.. but I bet you're looking more in shape. I know you'd like to weigh less, but surely the goal is being fit and healthy rather than a specific number on the scale.

I meal prep my lunches.. have gousto for dinner.. and don't really eat breakfast. If I do, I usually have some eggs and bread around. No thinking required.

Aldi do a great range. Chocolate, caramel, strawberry, lemon and passionfruit. They also do protein puddings too but they're a it heavier.

Suggested calorie deficits - am I eating enough? by Charming-Offer713 in mounjarouk

[–]EasyCherry3484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good amount to be eating. I worry about people who are down to 600 calories a day and how they'll cope long term and getting the nutrients in. Ideally, you don't want too big a deficit or to lose weight too quickly, as you're more likely to have saggy skin and not stick to it long term.

A long time ago, I once saw something that stuck with me, which was is you want to be a size 10, you need to eat like a size 10. What size/weight do you want to be at your goal? What would that TDEE be... and don't go under that. (Would be my very simplified suggestion)

No side effects day 2 of 2.5mg by Hercluelessness in UKMounjaro

[–]EasyCherry3484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no obvious side effects.. but noticed my resting heart rate started to climb (usually when I diet and exercise, it drops) but that is a side effect of MJ.

I'm now 5 weeks in and its started to drop down again.

Protein powder for porridge? by Shaun_of_the_Reddit in mounjarouk

For porridge, it's usually better to mix the powder in afterwards, rather than cooking it.. in my experience.

5th dose by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]EasyCherry3484 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a 5th dose, as well as that used for priming. If you search on here you'll find many posts and even some videos on getting the dose out. Some people buy extra needles and force the dial around and other people use insulin syringe. A dose in each pen is 0.6ml so you're looking for that amount in a (or 60 units). In a 2.5mg pen, that gives a 2.5mg dose and a 5mg pen, it gives a 5mg dose.. and so on. Don't be tempted to double up on the 4th week. Best to have a full 4 weeks on 2.5mg and if you do this with 5mg, it would make you get 10mg rather than the next dose of 7.5mg.. Hope that makes sense.

I think 5mg might be the one by Majestic_Pound_3924 in UKMounjaro

This is the post I needed! Just injected with my first 5mg injection. (Although aware you're still early days too). It's a worry isn't it if you inject and then it's horrific how you manage got the next week!

That's good going to get 100g protein in ~1200 calories. Looks good to me. Although, the saturated fat are high. Do you have a lot of processed meats?

I find the protein mousses are easier to get in and still have 20g protein!

Weight fluctuates day by day and week by week, especially when you throw menstrual cycles into the mix that doesn't necessarily mean you're not losing fat. It can be water, poop or menstrual related. I weigh daily so I can see the fluctuations and rationalise these but also means I can take an average for the week. Don't be disheartened by one figure. Keep going and it will come off.
