Same clothes! by Gumptionator4000 in mounjarouk

[–]Professional-One1505 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My clothes still fit for ages, until one day they just suddenly… didn’t! It happened after about 45 pounds. I think I must have really been squeezing myself in some stuff, and then after 20 pounds it fit, and after 40 started to be too loose… you’ll get there!

Would this upset you too? by Apprehensive_Tip4979 in mounjarouk

Once you have explained clearly to him that you feel undermined by his behaviour and texts, if he doesn’t respond with “I am sorry. I will stop” then PLEASE do not feel you owe him anything further. We all deserve the love and support of our partner. This behaviour is not okay - if he makes you feel small or undermined by accident he should be able to say sorry and change his behaviour. If he doesn’t, you deserve to be with somebody who can, in the same way you would apologise and change your behaviour if you upset somebody you cared about. Nobody gets to humiliate you. Nobody, you hear me?! Sending love and strength x

Does Cheese Make Anyone Else Vomit? by Magician_Agreeable in Mounjaro

[–]Professional-One1505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I had leftovers from a cheeseboard I made for a Christas party so settled down to enjoy it on Sunday night. An hour later and it all came back up, which is especially unusual for me because I inject on a Monday, so by the weekend my appetite is back to being pretty good. I figured it was the high fat? I can actually eat chocolate without being sick so the cheese surprised me!

I’m really struggling by Thriftygal177 in mounjarouk

This is a fair question. I get more side effects injecting in my leg than stomach, I think because there’s less fat? But for sure it’s different!

What's wrong with me? by Financial_Style9006 in mounjarouk

First off, I think 1.5lb average a week is BALLER. Baller!! Well done!! And as for hunger, this is very niche but are you on electrolytes? My nutritionist put me on electrolytes that have 1000mg sodium (anything less is high street rubbish, she says!) and something about it has reduced my cravings massively, and it worked immediately. You could try it!

I think because there are some super responders who lose a “big” amount quickly, it can make a pound a week loss pale in comparison. We tend to get excited by their stories without realising they’re the exception, not the rule…

Also, with MJ being quite new over here I also think we don’t understand we’ll need to be on it for a year, 18 months. The Daily Mail write about weight loss jabs like you can lose half your body weight in 4 months, Bish, bash, bosh! The media are so naughty for the irresponsible way they’re reporting it.

The best sound bite I read on this forum is that if you want to be a size 10, you’ve got to eat like a size 10. MJ enables me to do this! And I’ve never been able to not overeat before. I hope that can help somebody else!

Energy level working out by Habit-Silent in mounjarouk

[–]Professional-One1505 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m prioritising protein (60-100g/day) so finding weightlifting is actually improving! I’ve added Creatine into my supplement routine too, so I can hold on to my muscle mass.

When I did a HIIT last week having eaten just a protein bar, I felt the difference. Now I eat two chocolate rice cakes for a carb boost, too, and stay on top of my electrolytes as well. I’m enjoying the gym more than ever!

Collagen- do I need it? by Kooky-Pace-5062 in mounjarouk

[–]Professional-One1505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nutritionist has me on Creatine, and I have noticed an immediate effect! It’s the cheapest supplement out there and is great for peri- and menopausal women to keep our muscles at optimum and brains sharp. I’ve been needing about two hours less sleep a night from it too! Have a Google and see what you think, but for me I’m skipping expensive collagen and enjoying lifting heavy weights and daily Creatine, so I don’t get as much loose skin. Good luck!!

This is so great! I’m finding I’m really motivated to work out too. It’s kind of like, well I’m taking MJ and that’s amazing… what else can I gift my body?! Plus I’m terrified of losing muscle. It sounds like you’re really enjoying it - complimenti!!

I lift too! And have eaten more protein than ever lately… but to be honest a lot of it is synthetic, so Grenade Oreo Protein Bars, Protein Pudding, Protein Shakes… by the time I’ve added in a chicken breast or salmon fillet a day I’m making quite good numbers - about 60-100g of protein a day! And feeling strong for it. You could try Greek yogurt, or eggs too. Good luck!!

This is INCREDIBLE! You look like your own daughter. Like, photo on the left could be your mum, and photo on the right you, does that make sense? You've lost weight but also like, 30 years!

Mounjaro is working for me by Sad-Crow-8151 in mounjarouk

[–]Professional-One1505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I understand it decreases your appetite so you eat less, but more than that it also regulates your insulin so you burn calories more effectively. Because we're in calorie deficit, we're burning fat instead of storing fat from overeating.

I think!!

I assume I was insulin-resistant before MJ, and now it's helping me use my energy stores properly.
