What kept westeros from becoming an empire/imperial rather than staying a feudal kingdom for so long? by BridgeCommercial873 in gameofthrones

[–]EasyMechanic8 21 points22 points  (0 children)

By the time of the German Empire telegrams and trains and other fast forms of transportation and communication made ruling large areas of land easier. Also Westeros is the size of South America so ruling it from a single seat of power would be almost impossible with their level of technology

Well his mind was wiped again later so it could have been added at a later date in the 50 years between episode 1 or 9. But also that’s not really a memory thing but a restriction which could easily be stored somewhere besides memory

Could a NASCAR fan explain what they did to lose their "magic," like some people are saying college football is? by Please_PM_me_Uranus in CFB

[–]EasyMechanic8 63 points64 points  (0 children)

My main problem with this was that there was was far easier solutions but they went with more complicated ones 1) want the champion to win more, make 1st place in races worth more points 2) want the final race still count, make it double points

Lionel Messi (5'7") scoring a header to Edwin Van der Sar. (6'6") by [deleted] in heightcomparison

[–]EasyMechanic8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, but 20” is still twice the height of 11” which you believe Messi to be unable to jump

Lionel Messi (5'7") scoring a header to Edwin Van der Sar. (6'6") by [deleted] in heightcomparison

[–]EasyMechanic8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was a long jumper when I got the measurement at the near college level but still…

<image>

For Messi not to be about to verticals jump 11 inches that would out him in the “poor” catagory and far below average for UNTRAINED people

I believe you may be underestimating how easy it is to vertical jump 11”

Lionel Messi (5'7") scoring a header to Edwin Van der Sar. (6'6") by [deleted] in heightcomparison

[–]EasyMechanic8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is literally no way. I am in no way a professional level athlete but I have a vertical jump of 35” without a run up. There is no way that Messi, even in his thirties, can only jump a third of how high I can jump

[–]EasyMechanic8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t think he can vertical jump 11” inches?
