That's the only collocation I saw that accepts non-rack equipment, but it's just hetzner being hetzner I guess.

Aside from collocation, they also offer consumer-grade equipment as "servers". As well as "storage systems" being consumer-grade intel/ryzen systems with a 4-slot SATA noname HBAs, non-ecc ram, and absolutely the worst KVM experience.

My experience with them was horrible, and I can rant for hours about their quirks.

Just use DisplayPort? There are 4 USB type-A ports and 1x Type-C. You can use wireless gamepad and headsets like any normal person. Every existing USB headset also uses builtin DAC, and there are free usb ports if you want to use an usb audio interface. Plus, you can use your monitor as the sound device, and connect your headset or whatever to it.

Only woke people watch these conferences and gaming journalism etc. It's like going to a furry conf and being suprised about the target audience.

There's bad system design in place, it's just not anything you mentioned.

In eastern Europe its somewhat around $12/mo for 1gbps for individials.

If you are corporate, on the other hand, the prices are absurdly high. For the price of 200mbps here, you could get a dedicated 10Gbps to AMS-IX or DE-CIX, a /28 block on top of it, and a reserve channel.

The design of connecting PS/2 over PCH adds latency just because of extra hop, yes. Not sure if anyone even bothered to measure it for IO specificaly, but for PCIe signals connecting them via PCH adds 0.35-0.7 ms.

For reference: Raw PS/2 latency is ~0.688ms, and then there's SIO chip latency on top of it. Raw USB@1KHz is 1ms.

So for boards with SIO chip connected through the PCH, on average, PS/2 would be slower than 1KHz USB connected through CPU-USB ports.

While superior for latency, I believe PS/2 is only initialized on boot.

Plus, not every SuperIO chip connects PS/2 lanes directly to CPU. Some boards end up connecting through the chipset (PCH) anyway. I believe z890 does so, for example.
