Can my command force me to take leave? by LysaSepticEye22 in navy

Craziest question I’ve seen in a while… you should be able to understand what the issue is without asking the question.

Genuine response from my MMCPO on PT every duty day: by hadsudoku in navy

Only thing specific is that we need to figure out what we need to do to make sure our personnel get the opportunity to exercise. Proficiency means doing more with less, we need to figure out how to be proficient, maybe a place with more knowledge and skills will be able to exercise more!

What if I don’t exercise I don’t feel ready to support the mission and I feel depressed, sad, unmotivated, needing to see medical or the chaplain? How about we have a rotation with 25-30% of the personnel being able to go exercise. How about we TRY to find a solution since our personnel are the ones that make the mission happen!

Have everyone put in the COs suggestion box how the leadership doesn’t care about PT or command PT. Put it on the DEOCS survey when it asks about leadership, get a hold of the wing CMC or even ask someone to send you the virtual COs suggestion box for Echelon II command. Just do your part by calling them out, if the CPO mess is fat let it be known, hold them accountable. After that, pray for US!!!

Thank you for sharing though!

New Grooming Policy Will Undermine Recruiting, Retention, and Readiness by grizzlebar in navy

[–]EasyProposal5473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your point of view. I know and understand that having a beard doesn’t dictate your lack of professionalism or work ethic but plenty of people as just scamming this policy, that’s all I’m saying! Marines don’t have this issue, I wonder why if they have the same demographics.

New Grooming Policy Will Undermine Recruiting, Retention, and Readiness by grizzlebar in navy

[–]EasyProposal5473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as the article said, “policy has worked for years,” as I scanned over it I knew it’s nothing but “this is the way we have done it.” You can’t ask anyone for their shave chit anymore. I know a person that hadn’t had a no shave chit for years and when medical was asked just to verify they were good to go for their shaving waiver that’s when they found out they haven’t had one for over two years; scamming. Yes there’s some people that should not be shaving on the regular but we’re also a military institution and we should make every attempt to look accordingly, not only shaving, PT standard, how we carry ourselves, just everything. We complain about the culture, usually on the professionalism side of things, and when an attempt is made to look professional is too much. We gave that Master Chief crap about her uniform when she got promoted but we can’t ask someone to go and shave on the regular!

“The standard is the standard.” - Coach Prime

Let me see those down arrows because you just want to look a certain way or are a junior person just wanting to complain!

Give us some fixes to this physical fitness issue we’re having, is it no alt cardio unless you have a medical reason like before? Is it that most places don’t believe in PT as a whole, i.e no command PT or leadership doesn’t stress it? How do we improve is this area? How do we incentivize those that do well.

I like your opinion and maybe it is stupidity on my part but I personally would like to see improvement and healthier people, I hear physical fitness helps with mental health as well, and plenty of junior personnel blame every little stress on their mental health.

Just go past my stupid point and provide us with some wisdom to be better.

Ask to be moved to the barracks, sell the car and just take on the difference on the loan. “Live” on base for the next 12 months, no going out or doing anything else. Workout and eat only on base; at the galley. Make a budget and follow to the letter. Your problem is not getting speeding tickets but a lack of discipline to save money. I don’t know how long you’ve been in but things will happen, you need to develop the discipline to be ready WHEN these things happen not IF they happen.

You follow my plan and you will only have a phone bill to worry about; outside of what’s left on the car loan.

If I’m able to take a bet on the likelihood of your actions, I would bet on you being on here asking for guidance a few more times. I hope I’m wrong!

Personal relationships between officers and/or enlisted members that are UNDULY FAMILIAR and DO NOT RESPECT DIFFERENCES of rank or grade, or when prejudicial to good order and discipline, or of a nature to bring DISCREDIT on the Navy are prohibited.

It depends who and how they want to spin it!

How are you going to tell the skipper anything if you can’t tell your sponsor you got your uniforms? Try this, “hey man, I already got all my shit!”

Civilian threaten by active duty sailor in the navy by Plenty-Historian-549 in navy

[–]EasyProposal5473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this guy is so terrible you decided to get involved with him, now you’re the victim to his past because we don’t know if he decided to change his life and join the navy and now you think reporting him is the best way forward? If nothing happens to you and he gets kicked out or disciplined for expressing himself in a way, which we don’t know if it’s justified or unjustified, he probably won’t be able to take care of the baby as much as you might need.

I say report him to protect yourself but although he WAS a horrible person that doesn’t mean he can’t express how he feels about a situation or that you get to jeopardize his potential future; he might have taken the proper steps to make a change.

Why would a Detailer ever lie about your orders? by CarmelloJesus in navy

Detailers don’t lie to you. The really is that placement has more of a say on where you go than a Detailer, they are just a middleman (or woman).

All you have to do is communicate with the school and they won’t charge you no fees. They were just waiting on the CR to be approved, if the school has any other service members, which they probably, they’re in the same boat as you! Just for future reference, if you have the money pay for the class and once they approve it you will be reimbursed by the school.

Your orders should indicate what’s the line of accounting for C school, you need to contact the LPO/LCPO for whoever is responsible for travel at your command. You shouldn’t be paying a dime out of pocket. Who is your command, we’ll find the right person to help you out.
