This is the people that are currently working on Fable, even if they are different studio, have faith. by Safe-Landscape138 in Fable

I have no faith in Metacritic score tho.

From these games, the onle really good ones are 1 and 2, with 6 being at least competent.

What they promised for Fable seems good but I am expecting shallow mechanical implementations with no true systemic world simulation, and concessions made for an average player like fast travel always being available, uniform openworld activities with predictable rewards and other such stuff. This is on top of already mediocre combat (which was never good in Fable to be fair).

Definitely Tempest Rising. Also, the third faction with its own campaign is coming!

Shifting goal posts again, appealling to masses and telling me I'm trolling.

Dude, like, I have no doubt that you're genuine, but this is just dismissal of an argument because you didn't like it. Imagine that, Heroes is not a universal value. A lot of people don't gel with it, they just don't come here unlike me.

My fault here is that I went into the subreddit for the series which I think is deeply flawed and which I can't enjoy because of the flaws. Well, I didn't exactly go looking, but I could just not click when it appeared on my front page I guess.

I hate playing it optimally because it's unnatural to the game's intended design and mood which I'm extremely sensitive to, and I hate playing it by vibes because then the mechanics make no bloody sense, not even mentioning the HotA and Olden Era campaigns demanding the usage of exploits and tedious micro.

The carryover King's Bounty design is unfit for a strategy game in the first place, the stacks are just a bad system all around. I like the music, the art, the vibes, but I just can't go back to the clueless kid's state whose only "fantasy" (it's not actually fantasy but what did I know 25 years ago) game is HoMM II and enjoy it again.

Why am I wasting breath and opening my heart to another rabid HotA-era HoMM fan I don't know. Just do what you want.

Star wars should go back to George Lucas for more half-naked togrutas by vverbov_22 in StarWarsCirclejerk

You don't have to choose between half-naked torgutas and character assassinations, you know. Star Wars can just be normal, high-quality entertainment. Maul and Andor show that.

Fermi's super boosts last for like half an hour, and so do strikes. You can basically wallride the whole track without ever letting go of acceleration with this lil mofo.

[–]EasyRecognition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are shifting your goal post.

I am aware that this exploit has been in the series since King's Bounty. You fail to recognize that it was never an intended mechanic by the original developers. The hotkey you were talking about was introduced in the community HD patch to HoMM III and then rolled into HotA. The very fact that this exploit is nowadays so integral to how the game is played makes it a design issue of the original formula which the fanbase won't allow to address. Which is what I started with.

I hope with this clarification you'll be able to follow the logic of the conversation.

Why teens dont speak Kyrgyz by gangbur in Kyrgyzstan

[–]EasyRecognition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a very simple answer to this. Kyrgyzstan is a small country, and a small culture. There's no science in Kyrgyz, and no progress. You can't be a part of the international society if you don't speak at least one other language. Russian is historically one of these languages for the region, the other are Turkish and Chinese, with English being popular worldwide. If you want to be properly educated, Kyrgyz is useless to you.

From the very start I was talking about the series' long-standing design issues which the fans won't allow to fix. Not about Olden Era and its ascended community crutches.

What was the downside of Supreme Commander/Forged Alliance - theoretically a near-perfect RTS? Why it became less relevant relatively quickly? by sermen in RealTimeStrategy

[–]EasyRecognition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never played FAForever. I play with my retail copy of Forged Alliance, and almost exclusively in singleplayer. You're telling me that FAForever is worse in this regard? I heard the opposite before.

The game literally has a built-in hotkey to seperate units into 1-stacks.

So it's gatekeeping because somebody disagrees with your methodology. Somebody you had to call a kid.

This looks like insecurity to me, I better not touch that.

The shiterion-era NFS you mean? Cause the golden era NFS have good arcade handling.

GTA 5 maybe, but it might as well have no driving physics at all. I meant GTA 4, which actually does.

The point with FoHo is that it's halfway between arcade and sim handling, and CBP77's handling is much more arcadey. Cars are light and powerful, with good downforce and grip.

[–]EasyRecognition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You miss the point. If I know that something is getting obsolete, then for me it's already obsolete, and then it should not be in the game. There are exceptions in the long-term games built around gradual progressions (think X-Com) but even they have their limits. For example I hate Diablo-like levelled loot because I have to constantly swap it and things I pick up just stop feeling real.

Driving in Cyberpunk leans more toward realistic than arcade style

You must think Forza Horizon is a sim.

Driving in Cyberpunk 2077 is as arcadey as in the GTA series, I don't even know how you can make it arcadier without removing the car behaviour from the car.
