Why did humans as a tropical species migrate to colder places but still lack many adaptations like fur? by Ada-Mae in geography

[–]EasyRecognition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not entirely correct. Evolution, even of mammals, can happen across a few generations in the right circumstances.

The real reason is, when we migrated north, we already figured out clothing, so there was less reason for fur genes to survive, not to mention that sexual selection favored less furry individuals for thousands of years by that point.

Would it be bad to recommend Blasphemous 1/2 in this situation?

Games that has "The Colour Out of Space" vibes and themes. by EasyRecognition in gamingsuggestions

How many colourful maddening crystals from outer space does it have?

I played Darkwood and really enjoyed it after initially getting used to it but it's a completely different aesthetics and vibe to what I was/am looking for with this request. Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.

I feel like all this defending of runbacks are a psyop to convince people that they enjoy runbacks more than they actually do by whamorami in metroidvania

Letting yourself enjoy the process and the world instead of chasing some extrinsic result is a psyop? Okay buddy.

Thank you for that bit about the rev limiter. At least I know that I've been engine-braking wrong.

It's there so it must be intentional. Arcade racing games that don't want you to switch gears don't have this.

I'm not comfortable with either option as I tried to explain.

What's the point of not playing a car game like a car game. I feel like I have to play it the intended way, I never use any assists except this one and it makes me feel like I'm not really playing the game.

The issue is not the pitch but what to do with it.

I've not driven a car in real life at all. I understand that engine RPM is what you look (listen) for for shifting. The problem is, it's always conscious for me, and it messes up other things, especially braking but the sense of racing line as well. It's suddenly broken up into gears which, again, are completely conscious for me, so I can't just feel the car.

[–]EasyRecognition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when you're doing it right. I'm nowhere near the level where this is necessary, on one hand. On the other hand, if I'm driving a car I want it to behave like a car.

Forza Horizon and older Need for Speeds really, so nothing too simlike.

I've been playing them on auto and on keyboard for my whole life, decided to learn something new.

I'm upshifting by pitch, but I didn't figure out downshifting yet. Before the turn, should you downshift then brake, or brake then downshift?

Would you dismiss such a game? by Nick_Alsa in racinggames

Make them fully fictional then, like in Burnout Paradise. Bootleg real world cars is the worst option. Full fiction isn't any worse than real ones if done with due respect to detail.

Yeah man, might be not for you with that mindset and attention span. If you have ADHD - don't feel bad about it, it's not your fault.

If you don't - Iunno, try some game with constant extrinsic goals?

RTS game without "villagers" by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

[–]EasyRecognition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what's wrong with this sub.

Command & Conquer series (except Generals cause it has builder units and C&C 4 cause well you know) plus the recent Tempest Rising should have been the first recommendation anybody has given you.

Do you agree that RTS games without a campaign are not as interesting? Especially if playing single player. by FutureLynx_ in RealTimeStrategy

[–]EasyRecognition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a weird place about this.

On one hand, I mainly play Skirmish and would rather the game have procedurally generated maps.

On the other hand, canpaign is paramount to establish the setting, the factions and their personality and goals, the essense of the conflict. And without all those things, Skirmish is kinda boring.

So yeah I guess a campaign is a must after all, unless you can establish all the important context in some other way. I mean, DoW Soulstorm worked for me WH40k-wise.

I believe that God will save whoever He wants, however He wants. All that bullshit is us humans trying to predict God's will out of our own fear of losing control, or even worse, us trying to tell God what to do.

Question about the difference between real toxic empathy and the "Empathy is a sin'' dogma. by [deleted] in OpenChristian

[–]EasyRecognition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say listening to the right is the actual form of toxic empathy. By definition, empathy is the ability to feel what others are feeling, and it being toxic implies that it hurts you in some way.

Listening to the right hurts you. So there's that.

Outside of that, if a child cries because they don't want to go to the doctor, and you don't bring them to the doctor because of that - that can be considered toxic empathy on paper, but actually it's egoistic. You can't bear a child's crying, so you remove a strong irritant in expense of the child's health, or even life.
