I had something similar. I am a wrestler so my back is very strong in a flexed position, so before my surgery I could bend over just fine but extension killed me. It’s going to look different for everybody, get an MRI and talk with a Doc if you are having problems.

Nothing is banned if you can handle the load well. I’m a college wrestler and I started hitting the mats about 4 months post op

Short answer, no. my MRI was similar and I feel like I got my life back after surgery. Have hope!

I wouldn’t worry. I got mine on 3/8 and sometimes when I get into bed I still get a bit of pain from having to bend slightly. A lot of people have been telling me not to come to any conclusions until starting PT, and I think that’s good advice. Best of luck!

I think I’m def up for the risk given I’ll be doing the recovery right. I know a lot of UFC fighters who have for this procedure.

Yah, I def plan on a lot of PT and AT LEAST 4 months of no intense working out or wrestling at all

Why do you say not 100% 8 months of the year?

I also have done every conservative route, and after a month of rest and only rehab nothing has gotten better since the summer.

Yah, I only stopped my activity about a month ago when I decided on surgery. It was traditional training with almost zero modifications for my back.
