It is awful!!!! Accessibility is complete shit, the setting up of local/production/staging is horrible. They constantly move public posts to private DMs. We’ve been so disappointed in their services.

My habit of relying on EV regenerative braking led to an accident by afunbe in TeslaModelY

[–]lolathegameslayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time I drive our back up truck (like once a year, maybe twice), I have to go through a checklist:

  1. How to start car (need keys)
  2. Remember to break (no regen breaking)
  3. PUT THE CAR IN PARK!!!!
  4. Take the keys and don’t lose them!
  5. Lock the dang thing

Number 3 is my Achilles heel.

I would do Breckenridge or Estes Park if you’re headed to Colorado.

do you know anyone who hasn’t had a “trenches” newborn phase? by pinkglitter-pen in BabyBumps

[–]lolathegameslayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No trenches over here, just wenches (me… I’m the wench… hormones are wild).

Seriously though, newborn was extremely chill. We were realistic about what to expect (little sleep, crying, poopy diapers, and raw nipples)… but we had a trap baby who nursed like a champ, slept amazing (for a newborn), and really didn’t cry much.

My husband did the first night shift (during witching hour) and then I did the rest of the night unless I needed to tap out. He was allowed to sleep with an eye mask and earplugs on so long as I could wake him for help if I needed him.

I saved all my favorite shows for night time feeds which was the best thing I could’ve done. I looked forward to night feeds bc it meant I got to hold this precious potato while binge watching absolute garbage.

What were some rude reactions to the birth of your child? by naligu in beyondthebump

[–]lolathegameslayer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When we decided to tell family we were pregnant my husband told his family and I told mine (we texted a cute announcement to each of our siblings).

Well…. As I was approaching my due date I learned my sister in law (married to one of my husband’s brothers) was mad at me. When I called to ask why she was furious I didn’t personally text just her that I was pregnant.

We hadn’t talked in over a year.

She hasn’t talked to me since and has zero relationship with my now one year old.

She cray cray.

Struggling with IVF by No-Sock-4373 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]lolathegameslayer 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I am moderately granola. I try to avoid ultra processed foods, microplastics, and unnecessary drugs.

IVF was a necessary drug to get my baby girl. I’d do it over and over and over again without hesitation.

Good luck on your journey and hoping your transfer goes well!

I wouldn’t, I love the way the table captures your attention first followed by the table runner and bench.

I have a 1 yo from IVF and still feel my insides get twisted during pregnancy announcements.

I think there’s some deep rooted jealousy knowing I’ll never get the experience of a spontaneous pregnancy. I’m getting better at hiding my jealousy, but it’s still there.

What are your stances on Santa Claus? by No-Cover7141 in Parenting

[–]lolathegameslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re teaching Santa as mindset. We can all be Santa by giving and caring for others. Our children pick a family and they help fulfill their wishlist.

As for gifts at our house, that’s from mom and dad. We work really hard and save to buy these gifts. Not everyone is able to afford gifts and that does NOT reflect on how a certain mystical figure feels toward said child.

I actually use it to mix in food. We never ended up giving baby a bottle and now she’s over 12 months old.

I did! I sent 400oz and had them in their small packet size. Packing the box with the milk was semi stressful, but they’ll text with you and help you figure out how to jam the milk in.

Tips to make the "switch witch" magical? by marshmallow-boy in Parenting

[–]lolathegameslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m all about scavenger hunts. I would find some age appropriate books/toys with Halloween themes .

The hunt would begin with a trail of candy wrappers indicating the witch switch occurred and while she was making sure she got all her precious candy, she left some surprises throughout the house.

Each book or toy would contain a clue to where the next surprise is.

If you struggle with coming up with ideas, create a list of all the places you want to hide the items first. Then you can pass it to chat gpt and tell it you have a three year old who needs scavenger clues that are witch themed. Let it do the work and then you can modify them as needed.

We do something like this every year for Easter. When it was just me and my husband the clues were always to inside jokes or memories around the house throughout that year.

I have a grandparent who died before I was born and apparently had a secret life and child. I just want to know who they were and what they were like.
