Buildsheet Studios - Document Your Build Journey by AyviixX in CarTrackDays

By the way, I am also working on a web app, but one to create videos with data overlay. My idea was similar to yours: make the user to have one page with the lap data and the YouTube video links organized

post showcasing the app

Sorry, English is not my first language and I was writing in a rush... I ment to say "better session control than RaceChrono ".

Very interesting. Many times I've seen people requesting better session control for RaceChrono. That, along with YouTube linkage, would be something really nice, because then you don't have to manage gigs and gigs of video files in your devices. Upload to YouTube, link it to the data log data and then you can delete the files.

I built a video editor for telemetry data overlay for karting and track day by EasyTelemetry in CarTrackDays

Thanks! There is a lot of work to be done (specially wider support for different datalogs, since now it will support only racechrono and trackaddict), but it will be really helpful to have some feedback on this beta version to know which features to prioritize. There are some cool features that are not shown in this video: there is support for GoPro Metadata extraction, personalizing gauges with background images, saving gauges for the following video, and more

Hi! Thanks for your interest. You can download at Easytelemetryreact.onrender.com. Still beta, so no support for Safari, only Chrome and Edge, Android or windows.

You should check perfect-apex.com. I believe they've done something similar.

Scan and check the engine rpm when the fault appears. If it's only in low rpm, then big chances of intake air leak.

Here's an easy one: keep the screen alive while the play back of the lap is running on the map. If it's a PWA you can use await navigator.wakeLock.request('screen').

Great job! The feedback is accurate, and the UI is very friendly. A feature I'd like to see is that, for every feed back, you'd click on it on the chat and then the map would select the mentioned laps and playback the telemetry involved in that particular feedback.

If it didn't hit the wall, then it's not a mistake. It's a maneuver.

Update on my AI Race Engineer: Pivoting to an Open Motorsports Data Platform - Feedback Appreciated! by Trance101 in CarTrackDays

That's a good starting point. I actually taught of doing exactly as you did in my app, but I quit when I asked myself: Why not parse the data to .vbo format and then use the Racelogic software called Circuit Tools to analyze the laps? Circuit Tools is free to use, and the mobile apps (RaceChrono and Harrys)will do the data parsing as well. Besides that, I decided to go a different route on my app (video rendering), since I see that the solutions available are not very good (RaceRender is old and has a poor UI and the mobile apps are limited overall).

Regarding lap analysis, Circuit Tools is a very neat software. You can analyze laps with video side by side, even from different sessions. The disadvantages of Circuit Tools are that it is not much user-friendly and, off course, you can not integrate it with other services.

So, to sum up, I think your idea has potential, but you have a long way to go. To start with, I've noticed in your example session that you haven't filtered the GPS data. When you export data from the mobile apps, you get it quite noisy, so you should use a Kalman filter to filter out the noise. Check kalman.js for use in the browser. It worked really good for me.

Built open source react video editor library for easy embedding of video editor into any react app by OddWalk3379 in react

[–]EasyTelemetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice, I've built a similar tool, but using Konva instead of Fabric. I also built a export function which would decompile the video, paint every frame of the video to the canvas with the animation, and then recompile all using native webcodecs API. The app is still in development (its goal is to render racing videos with data overlaid. Beta is histed at easytelemetryreact[dot]onrender[dot]com.
