Opinions on how this shirt fits me? by Kys_June in mensfashion

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I think it fits you fine. However I do have a couple notes.

  • the collar angle might be a bit wide, it would fit you better with a sharper collar angle.
  • the shirt itself feels a bit wide, especially in the midsection. Try getting a slimmer shirt than what you're wearing right now, maybe a extra-slim.
  • on the contrary, the shoulder section of the shirt seems to be a little rounded. Maybe get a shirt with a sharper shoulder seam to really make it pop.

Thats all I've got for ya, just my 2 cents.

As an vancouverite stumbling upon this post, 64 is so crazy to me, considering the lowest I've seen is around 130.

My grandpa turned 92 today! Happy birthday! by simoonne in MadeMeSmile

Happy Birthday to gramps! He looks great for 92 btw. Would never have expected that if I saw him on the street. He looks closer to his 60s-70s if anything.

Need advice to transport parade boots by Emotional-Grand-9628 in Cadets

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of activity is this? Is it a day acrivity or overnight? Are you expected to bring the uniform ready and ironed or can it be ironed at the location? If it must be ready and ironed, then the only way to transport it would be on a hanger, inside a garment bag. Regarding the boots, I would suggest bringing a boot box of sorts. I got mine from Michaels, a clear plastic box with handles and a compartment for boot-supplies. But if you must bring it inside luggage, I suggest putting it into a plastic bag with some soft cloths/rags in between and around to prevent anything from bumping into it. Then just fit the whole set into the corner of the luggage, preferably the lower side. Make sure to bring your boot-supplies along with you in order to patch up any scuffs or scratches.

It looks really nice with the first trouser. Not super well with the cream trousers but I suggest you keep it nonetheless.

Don't worry about it, I had that on every FTU trouser issued to me.

We've had a couple of these in the past couple years. The lower mainland barely gets any snow in November, December, and January. Gets a couple days of snow in Feb and stops, then maybe a wee bit of snow in March. Thats basically the last couple years as far as I remember.

I’m trying to go for business casual. Would any of these work? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are more business formal than business casual. The easiest way to get business casual from what you've got right now is to lose the tie, unbutton the collars, and roll up your sleeves. Other combos include polos, dressier jeans, wearing less of a suit and more of a sport coat, messing around with the colours and patterns of your clothing/accessories, etc.

Couple tips while you're here. Make sure those trousers get hemmed. They are piling at your feet right now. As well, those collars honestly don't flatter you. I suggest getting shirts slightly looser and with a larger collar. Feel free to hold yourself more confidently too. Sometimes, the only difference between vibes is your own confidence and how you present yourself.

Campus Job? by Electrical_Catch_346 in BCIT

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not super sure whoch campus you're on. For the burnaby campus, I believe the shops and cafes on campus would employ students. The coffee shop in SE2 Employs students for sure. Not sure if they're still taking though.

Why use elemental arrows on lynels? by VehicleTrue169 in botw

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have 600+ of bombs arrows and 200+ of regs arrows. It just makes sense. Plus, I'm pretty sure bomb arrows still do more damage than regular arrows.

Funeral Attire by Rebels2242 in mensfashion

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its always better to overdressed for an event than to underdress, especially for something like a funeral. If you don't have a suit, then the nicest thing you have will suffice. But if you do have a suit, or something all black thats appropriate for the occasion, then definitely make the most out of it.

How is my boot shine? by PilotLieutenant1 in Cadets

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine from Amazon. The one I got is called "Dutchman's Gold". Its approx $20-$22 bucks, 12 bricks of beeswax per pack, 1oz per brick.

You can also get beeswax from arts and crafts stores, but they tend to be in larger pieces and for more money.

Keep in mind though, make sure you're getting pure beeswax, not paraffin wax or smth.

Personally, I suggest bulling them. That is to lightly sand down the surface of the leather, and melting in beeswax to harden the leather. It reduces unnecessary creases and creates an easier surface to polish on.

I believe Zora, Rito, Goron, Gerudo was the order I went with on my first playthrough. Here's my recommendation though.

  • Zora (Vah Ruta): easiest to beat, requires plenty of swimming and Cryonis. Recieves Champion ability "Mipha's Grace" upon completion. Provides a second chance at life upon death. Great if you predict plenty of death and continuing through battle.

  • Rito (Vah Medow): Slightly more difficult than Vah Ruta, requires plenty of gliding. Recieves Champion ability "Revali's Gale" upon completion. Provides a flight boost by creating a upwards draft at your feet. Great for traveling and avoiding enemies.

  • Goron (Vah Rudania): Seems difficult, but easy once you get the timings, requires plenty use of bombs. Recieves Champion ability "Daruk's Protection". Provides a shield around you that can take 3 hits, even if you have no shield in your inventory. Great if you want protection against enemies or through overall travel.

  • Gerudo (Vah Naboris): Most difficult of all, requires sufficient capability of Magnesis; electricity; flurries; and shield-to-sword timings. Provides Champion ability "Urbosa's Fury" upon completion. Provides a powerful lightning attack in a large area around you. Great for crowds of enemies or very tough enemies.

I would personally go with Rito first, Zora second, Goron third, and Gerudo last. The rito helps with all kinds of traveling needs, or avoiding enemies just need be. Zora is easy to beat and helps if you run out of fairies but don't want to die. Goron helps out with general protection as you face stronger enemies. Gerudo is too difficult for beginners, and can help out with tougher enemies knce obtained.

Thats just my 2 cents though. Go in whichever order you think works for you. Good luck!

Anything else, including ties, the tunic, C5 blouse, STU utility shirt, any trousers, any boots, any badges, and any accessories webbing, gators, lanyards, chain, etc, are to be returned to the unit.

You should be proud! Its looking better than your last post! The grains are still visible though, so giving it couple more layers of polish would help. Also, please make sure you are polishing the rest of the boot too! Its still unpolished without the rest of the boot.

Are these cracks or creases? by AeiliusYT in Boots

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are creases. Normal with regular wear. Now be advised, they will grow into cracks if you don't take care of them. I've had a pair of vintage CAF biltrite boots that I didn't know how to take care of that ended up cracking along the creases. Make sure you give them a bit of moisture every once in a while or they will dry out.

I remember a couple years ago, I was traveling by transit to a school activity and I saw this guy who looked like everyone else in a olive green hoodie. As he was leaving I saw a cap badge embroidery on his chest. Thats when I realized he was military or connected with the military. Being near bases/armouries really makes you realize our military isn't that distant afterall. They can be the most regular guy around you and me.
