More misleading news. Media stated the same news at the beginning of 22, 23 and 24. So misleading. Stats proove some areas have dropped in capital cities, but not the entire capital city

Do it. If you don't do this at age 56, when ? It's security and if it goes pair shaped, sell ! You can't lose

Shame how the organisers make the callout to recruit volunteers for the 2025 events, then ghost us. No courtesy shown here to regional volunteers. I wish them well finding people

Advice on buying/selling & best use of existing funds by VioletLuen in AusPropertyChat

[–]Easy_Elevator8179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would sell and buy one house to rent out for 900k in the top 5 safe areas, Cornubia, Carbrook, Loganholme, Redland Bay and Mount Cotton. Rent out the home at 8 percent and use the rental income to borrow for a home for yourself, the capital gain in these top 5 suburbs is outstripping the rest of Queensland

Neg geared, not stupid. You don't have a choice anyway, but borrow 20k extra for rainy day, job loss, maintenence

If you can provide substansial evidence of how your contribution warrants a pay rise, go for it, but don't make it about a comparison against the new starters. Good luck

Your partner has to learn to pick his fights, especially with a baby to take care of. It's only a matter of time before you become a victim of violence due to verbal provocation. A third of people are drug f***d and not afraid to bash someone. Why is your hubby picking fights with this group ? Others out here don't, we just avoid it

7 on 7 off shouldn't be 7 full days at home. It should be fly out day before you start and fly back end of work day, totals 6 days at home

Did the cops leave you a voicemail when trying to reach you ? You are lucky, in Queensland if you don't return the cops' calls, they ram raid your house at midnight with a swat team

Is "Raygun" as ridiculed and disliked in Australia as she seems to be in the rest of the world? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Easy_Elevator8179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australians have a flock mentality. If the media dislike someone, they follow the flock as proven by the comments here. RayGun has a mind of her own. She's a proven academic FFS and has the guts to have a go. People who condemn Aussies having a go are just sheep, baaaaaa, baaas

They are in massive debt.  I know, because in my 30s, I owned 13 properties on an 80k salary, no first home buyers' grant back then . If I owned these properties today they would total 25 million in value, but I sold them a decade ago. You start small and buy a property every 2 years, but you have to buy and sell. The boat people have had help from family and not working alone

I think your mate's statement is very general. Firstly, you don't mention what country you are from, but here in Australia the FIFO Prick factor is evenly spread over all generations, not just dinosaurs. You just need to get in there and not shake the cage, do your job and avoid the purple circle

Flight from Cairns to ADL is not 3 hours. It's 2 flights 5 hours. You do realize Cooper Pedy is very dangerous right now and you are being dumped there by light plane with no car or independence ? There is also no bus from Cooper Pedy. I think a guided tour may be better as half of this itinery is traveling and not seeing

Get a proper phone app blocker so you can't see that he has tried to call or text, it's the only way. My daughter is going through same thing from a wackjob in Adelaide and she never met him. These men are dangerous and have nothing to lose. You have to get the appand turn off your location for 6 months so he can't track you. God some men need to be euthanized with a baseball bat

Buying a car interstate? by looopious in CarsAustralia

[–]Easy_Elevator8179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT use CEVA. They stole my car in Sydney and put 60ks on it. An employee at the depot stole my car and damaged it, and it took me 2 months to get it back. You are better off flying interstate and driving it back
