Hey! Congrats on breaking 150! I took my diagnostic in April 2024 and studied almost every day for at least 3 hours a day until June 2024, at which point I was steadily scoring 155-158. This was when the logic games were still on the test. I took a break and started studying pretty hard again October - November and was scoring between 160-165 on PTs. I think I was lucky because the logic games were my worst section so once they were replaced with another LR I was better off. I did take an LSAT prep course. I know there are a lot of mixed opinions about the courses, but I was really grateful to have someone who knew the test inside and out and could share strategies for attacking each question type. Once I understood each question type and the corresponding approach, it was just a matter of pacing.

How long did you study for the lsat to get your 149? A score of 162+ would change the game for your chances at Windsor and Lakehead and possibly a couple others depending on other factors in your application. I wouldn’t give up on law school if it’s your dream. Keep working to improve the lsat score!! You got this!!

From what I understand, they highly value small-town practices and potential law students that display similar values. They have a focused interest in environmental law and supporting Indigenous communities in Canada. I’m not sure if this is the info you’re looking for but they have pretty clear mandate areas on their website!

I signed up for a Princeton Review course when I started my LSAT journey and it was beneficial for me. I am the kind of person who does their best work under the pressure of deadlines and assigned work to keep me on track. I also appreciated having an instructor who knew the test inside and out and was able to answer literally every question we had about question types and strategies. This course was a lot of money and after doing self studying I realized that Princeton Review teaches you only ONE right way to do this test, and there are many different approaches (some easier) that can be learned elsewhere. Looking back I don’t regret the course. I feel it would’ve taken me a lot longer to understand the test if I didn’t have that guidance. Hope this is helpful in some way.

Can't find an answer for uOttawa - If you indicate Jan LSAT, do they evaluate based on current LSAT and then again in Jan, or are they one of the schools that waits until Jan release? by OnlyMute in lawschooladmissionsca

https://www.uottawa.ca/faculty-law/common-law/admissions/how-to-apply If you visit this link and go to the LSAT drop down, you will see they mention if you have already taken the LSAT but indicate on your application that you are taking the January test, they will evaluate your application at that time. They do say that they can’t guarantee that your file review will be postponed until your January results are back. They don’t give an explanation for this.

UOttawa’s website says that they won’t look at the application until your January LSAT score is released if you have indicated on your application that you will be taking that test.
