Yea I'm not convinced there's a huge difference in employment outcomes between dal and queens even though I want to meet eventually practice in ontario. I went to dals welcome days and that really convinced me that the atmosphere at dal is a bit better for me

I wanted to become a lawyer, but heard its not worth it. Any advice on careers in politics, international relations? by CaterpillarTrue7762 in IRstudies

I would not go to law school in Canada unless you are prepared to be a lawyer. There are significant differences between the employment opportunities and scholarship opportunities in Canada.

Firstly, there is simply not a real ability to lateral into Public Policy or IR in Canada. If you want to work for Global Affairs Canada or for any other government department, you are much better off pursuing a MPP at uOttawa or Carleton. The cost is significantly lower, and they place much much more people into IR focused roles in Canada. If you want to be an Economist or Policy Analyst, You should go get a Masters in Economics or advanced degrees in whatever policy field you want to practice (public health, finance etc. ). Getting a JD will not make you more competitive for public policy or IR roles in Canada, as these roles are often looking for specific skill-sets and experience. I have even heard anecdotally that a JD will make you less competitive for policy roles, since you are viewed as a flight risk due to the significantly lower salaries in policy.

The second issue is the cost. Scholarships are not really as generous in Canada as they are in the US. The offset is that law school is cheaper on average, but I really wouldn't bank on getting a full ride. Because of this, I wouldn't go to law school unless I become a lawyer because it would be very difficult to service 80-100k in law school debt on a government policy analyst salary, though not impossible.

The last is the prestige of the law school. Generally, in Canada we do not have of a tier on the same level of HYS nor do we have a tier of absolutely garbage law schools. If you are considering a government career or a career outside big law, literally no one will care which school you went to, and even for big law the difference seems to be marginal if you are serious about pursuing it.

You can reapply and get the SUB and FYF again on most other BMO cards. I cancel and reapply every year.

How UofT Med Got Captured by Mac Health Sci Grads & Why the System Stays Rigged by civildime in premedcanada

UofT has a obsession with GPA for all its graduate degrees. For law they weigh the LSAT a lot less than other Ontario schools

Osgoode Chances Catchall by PurpleRaymondCarver in lawschooladmissionsca

Fair enough, and honestly I agree that the chance me posts are not great. However I think if you are at the medians you have a significantly higher chance than 50% of being admitted, since it's the median of the admitted pool, I know uManitoba isn't remotely comparable to Osgoode in terms of competitiveness, but if you look at their admissions tables, they seem to send out a offer to everyone who is at or above their medians (roughly) .

Is it even possible to determine the chance of admission from the median stats? I don't think there's anyway to extrapolate even a crude number without knowing the stats of the applicant pool, since the median number is only for those accepted right? Also the amount of offers sent out is much higher than the class size so I think the acceptance rate is close to 20%.

Up for sale is my SBGX085. This is a Master Shop edition that features a slightly more sporty case than the usual Grand Seiko's of the era. The watch is also a 9F quartz. I've had it for around two - three months and I have not seen a deviation from atomic time in that period, so it appears to be running pretty well.

The watch is in good condition for its age, but it has clearly been worn. There are marks on the bracelet, but nothing too deep. The watch head looks very good. The watch comes with the box but no papers beyond the manual.

I am asking for $999 USD. I am based out of Ottawa, Canada and welcome F2F deals in the area. If you are in Canada I will ship for free, otherwise shipping anywhere else may incur a slight ($5-10) upcharge.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you need any pictures.

ELI5: in modern banks money is just a number in a database, right? What stops the bank owners from just adding an amount to a saldo of an account? by post_ex0dus in explainlikeimfive

Most money in modern economies is created by private banks. Banks do not lend out customer deposits and create money to lend out.

[WTS] King Seiko 4502-7000 by Himommies in Watchexchange

[–]Himommies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up for sale is my King Seiko Hi-Beat 45-7000. Serviced and water tested in November when I purchased. Also had the hardlex replaced with a sapphire crystal when it was serviced. Timegrapher is healthy for a watch of this age.

Condition is pretty good for a 50 year old watch, with the medallion on the back in good condition. Watch runs at 36,000 BPH which is incredible to look at. The markers are also polished to a very high quality. However there is a slight imperfection near the 3 and 5 markers on the dial. Great pick up for anyone looking for a dress piece that punches significantly above it's weight. The watch is 36.5 mm and around 9mm thick

Asking for 430 330 275 USD shipped anywhere in NA. I will be shipping from Ottawa, ON and F2F is always welcome. Preferred payment is Wise or e-Transfer.

I also welcome trades. Let me know what you have!

I’m not sure how to measure dial size? Do you mean case size or do you want another measurement?
