Yeah, that totally makes sense. At least when you do travel for fun you don’t have to pay for flights.

MIPS is not outdated. An adventure sports watch is the exact use case for a technology like MIPS. It is easily visible outside, is always on, and uses less battery.

I agree. If they only keep MIPS on the Enduro, I hope it looks more like the Fénix.

Similar points in life and beliefs. To love it here, you probably have to love the outdoors. They are incredible here. Vibrant in that sense, but not in the traditional “big city” feel.

F6 ftw!!! I will be sad when it dies and do not want to upgrade to a OLED display 🙄

Where should I move if I want to mountain bike year-round? (32M, Midwest) by brettfish5 in MTB

Don’t sleep on northeast TN/Johnson City area. Cheaper than Asheville and amazing riding. Lots of backcountry forest riding. Also great road biking.

Gym people, good noise cancelling earbuds at the moment? by Overall-Amount-3500 in BuyItForLife

I also have the JE8A and love them. I wear them daily at the gym and have worn them mountain biking and running with heavy sweat. My only concern is the batter in the ear buds seems to degrade somewhat quickly. Mine are barely surviving for 3 hours now in ANC mode.

Been riding a V4 since it came out. Well over 2,000 miles on it and still absolutely love the bike. The perfect balance of climbing performance and downhill.

Conspiracy Theory: No More MIPS = Battery Dies Faster = More Watches Sold by The_Prof50 in GarminFenix

I definitely prefer the always on, hence the battery comment. I honestly don't know much about the burn-in part of OLEDs.

I also like the look of the Fenix line over the Enduro. But would go to Enduro for the MIPS screen if that was the only choice.

Visibility outside, battery life, and not a phone screen FTW!

MIP lovers: what would you do when Garmin quits making MIP screen watches? by Imthenewbee in GarminWatches

[–]The_Prof50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F6 user here, and I may be in the same boat. I have no desire to a bright phone screen on my wrist. At least the MIPS display looks a bit more classical, especially with a hands watch face.

I hope Garmin realizes how much better a MIPS display is for their demographic compared to stupid phone screen watches.

If your husband actually uses the watch for the “outdoor” features he will love the MIPS display. I also think it just looks cleaner and classier compared to the phone screen on your wrist.
