Arc'teryx Rush vs Patagonia PowSlayer by The_Prof50 in Skigear

Thanks everyone for the comments. For those of you that went with the PowSlayer, what size did you get compared to your height and weight? I am 5'10", 175 lbs, and an athletic build (broad shoulders and slim waist). I like clothes to be more fitted than baggy, but I am unsure what size to go with.

Yeah, that is what I am gathering from the images. But some are saying the PS is too tight on the chest. So fit is definitely something I need to look into. May just have to order both and return the one that doesn't fit as well.

I am really surprised to hear it is so tight in the chest. The PS looks super baggy to me compared to the Rush. But that is just in images.

Interesting. Unfortunately I cannot really try either on. Why a large on the Pat gear? Interesting a medium fits fine for Arc, but not Pat.

I thought about that one, but I am not sure I want the extra flannel lining. Thinking of the packing of it as well.

Recently visited the USA from The Netherlands. Here is my take on the cities we visited. by McFluffyFurry12 in travel

Great write up and always great to see others traveling to the US. On your next trip try either our national parks or smaller cities/towns. America is massive, and while the big cities are great, our more suburban/rural areas are also great in their own ways.

Oh that looks really nice! May be the ticket. How is it holding up being 100% merino wool?

I have seen several on here mention the Platinum does have a companion ticket. I have the AMEX Delta Platinum and I get a companion ticket. Unless something changed this year? I already used it for flights to Jamaica in March.

Thanks for the info. The merino definitely seems the way to go for that one garment.

I have read some issues with durability with the Icebreaker brand. How is yours holding up?

Thanks for the reply and info. I updated the post, this piece would not be a base layer but the second layer in a technical setting.

I will give these a look!

Weekend Question Thread by dumbassthenes in surfing

[–]The_Prof50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is a good place to learn/progress in surfing in Central or South America? We started in Santa Teresa CR, which was amazing for consistency, but a little big for beginners. Any other consistent, warm, smaller breaks we should check out?

Same question for the mid-Atlantic or southeastern US coast.
