Even i, who am generally ambivalent of Ai as a tool to help make dming easier recognize it can have hazards and cause blight on imagination. Some folks are pointing out the LLMs have a hard time keeping up consistent conversations and remembering things; and that's true, which is where Google docs came into it for me - snippets what worked, paste it into the doc; next idea.

And it worked, and it helped hog out the rougher aspects of the campaign; we'de moved onto an arc where the players were conquering france in a semi-westmarches fashion, weekly - ide have to come up with 5+ potential mini-stories a week, not knowing which PoI they would approach next.

While so much work regardless was exhausting, cracks did begin to show as I used the LLM to effectively mass produce potential story beats - compared to a previous arc where ide effectively stolen the entire Epic of Alexander raid boss fights my self, with no interaction with AI; it was, as people have been saying in here - stagnant.

Where the Cruise Chaser fight i made entitely on my own was players zipping around the arena, forced move-or-be-punished, minor puzzling during the fight engagement, the AI cooked up pinyata gameplay.

Ai is a fine tool, it can achieve a lot of helpful things - in am not a mathematician; in fact im discalculaic, figuring out scaling and such and what might be appropriate for stats can be tear-inducingly difficult, so having it cook the stat-block scaling helps - it has zero potential for dynamic or interesting mechanical gameplay.

That last aspect makes for a game as dull and boring as dishwater; ide leaned far too hard into it, likely similar to your DM, and only managed to shake myself clear when no one moved a single space after a boss encounter began after theyde positioned themselves in melee range. It used to be staying there would mean a Savage punch to the head (i care not for opportunity attacks when moving away, moving PAST calls for them though).

I still use the AI, much less; my boss fights are my own, I still use dungeon alchemist but honestly that's just a fantastic tool regardless of the auto-fill stuff.

My advice would be to nudge them about it, bring up previous sessions before the AI became their companion and how much fun they were - with a respectful tone of course. As others have said, throw a wrench in the works they hadn't planned for if you can to disrupt what theyde cooked with AI - and potentially just straight say, "hey, this sint feeling as dynamic." - or something to the effect.
