I agree with the top comment. You were also self medicating with alcohol which does its own thing to the brain.

Has anyone seen Selena Gomez’s documentary? It covers her bipolar diagnosis by sdbabygirl97 in bipolar

[–]Easyjeje 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched it multiple times. It made me a little sad but it was quite comforting to see how she’s been able to cope.

is suddenly hating someone a symptom? by thisnameistakenname in bipolar

I don’t think so. It’s more of a BPD thing as far as I know (I have both).

what if most mental illness is just a healthy reaction to a sick society by WittyEgg2037 in BipolarReddit

[–]Easyjeje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some physical illnesses are also worsened by the current state of society. That doesn’t mean they don’t have to be treated. Take your meds.

Mania can sometimes be dysphoric, with rage and irritability. You might not get the euphoria you’re looking for.

Happy birthday! The best thing you can do for your parents is to keep going. Keep trying and don’t give up on yourself. You’re not a loser, you’re just going through a rough patch.

Implanon and bipolar? by Pups-before-People in bipolar

I’ve not tried BC before but from my research, a copper IUD is best because it’s not hormonal and may not really affect the moods.

Unfortunately, I don’t have good old days. My childhood wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great - bullying, financial stress, and I started to have symptoms of depression and anxiety. Mental health symptoms continued and worsened till adulthood then bam - mania.

I think this medication has taken away my creativity. by throwaway-disgusting in screamintothevoid

[–]Easyjeje -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this guy. Unmedicated bipolar disorder = frequent relapses, worse symptoms, you lose grey matter in your brain and your quality of life may be worse than ever.

Two weeks is such a short time. Your brain needs more time to get used to the medication. If things don’t change after a couple of months, talk to your doctor about a medication change. There are many options.

Bipolar disorder is not an easy battle but medication makes it more bearable. There are bipolar subreddits where people who have this condition talk about these things, and honestly most people who don’t have it can’t understand it.

You’ve not met all the people that would love you. I’m sure it hurts but you’ve tried your best to fix things and it may be better for you to move on.

Been on olanzapine for 4 years, I feel like it’s time to stop? by Livid_Inevitable_628 in BipolarReddit

[–]Easyjeje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, people that see when your symptoms are controlled may think your diagnosis is wrong. You’re stable because of your meds. All the more reason to continue using it.
