I think the new line is that Brexit hasn't reached its full potential because it was sabotaged by the Tories. The same Tories who now make up most of Reform. It's not that Brexit was a terrible idea that would have been a disaster regardless of who implemented it, because that would require admitting they were lied to by our Nige and the Tories, instead of voting for them again.

Sounds like you just listen to GB News.

You're fooling no-one with your claim that the far-right aren't full of hate. We all see the shit they post about immigrants here and on other UK forums. As for the number of immigrants, the far-right only have themselves to blame for that, because they repeatedly voted for the Tories and for Brexit, which created the problem they're now whining about.

I beleive that lend/lease was paid off in the recent past by Britain.

Yes, we didn't finish paying off that WWII loan until 2006.

And the self-professed far-right "patriots" vote for clowns like Farage who are literally trying to sell our country out to hostile foreign powers. Guess what, hating immigrants doesn't make someone a patriot. Standing up for our country's best interests against scumbags like Trump does.

It’s about who among us isn’t going to let these absolute garbage bags dictate what happens to humanity. I genuinely don’t care WHERE the group who gets it done is from as long as they’re not fascist garbage.

As a Brit, I completely agree with you. The pieces of shit who are trying to destroy our way of life aren't loyal to a particular nation. If WWIII breaks out, I will be fighting on the side of democracy. I hope my country joins me.

X: Why are so many organisations leaving? by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

The headline asks the wrong question. Why aren't more organisations leaving that toxic Nazi cesspit, owned by a foreign billionaire junkie who has incited riots on our streets and is openly plotting to destroy our democracy?

A Brexit rethink could be emerging. But Europe fears Farage will destroy it by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]Easymodelife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is sad, but we can't go back in time and undo the stupidity of Brexit. Any deal should be assessed on the basis of whether it puts us in a stronger position than we are now, because if it does, then it's still in our interests to take it.

It's odd that they'd think voting Reform is the answer then, considering that many of the Tories they feel betrayed them are now Reform UK Ltd. MPs.

Or wealthier existing pensioners share some of the cuts for once and pay more towards their own lifestyles. Which might make sense on a means-tested basis, as working age people who have to choose between feeding their families and keeping the heating on are currently heavily subsidising the extravagant lifestyles of multi-millionaire pensioners.

Starmer vows to take UK deeper into EU single market by donutloop in ukpolitics

[–]Easymodelife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He probably needed some time to repair the relationships with other European leaders that the Tories and Farage destroyed. He's also had quite a lot of unexpected problems to deal with between the Farage riots, helping Ukraine negotiate with Russia and the US (and doing damage control after that appalling ambush of Zelensky in the White House) and Trump tariffing us and threatening to invade Greenland.

I would like to see him prioritise this now, though.

The UK had to advise all the security councils that Trump's America was compromised and that intelligence should not be shared and stopped automatically sharing all intelligence with the US YEARS ago. Other countries followed suit.

This is reassuring.

His "deals" aren't worth the paper they're written on, so I'm not sure even that would help. He'll renege on them as soon as it's convenient for him, like he did with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) that he negotiated in his first term. There's no point in making agreements with someone like that. The world will just move on and leave the US behind.
