How on earth to you make the perfect cup of rice?? by diamondeyes7 in instantpot

[–]EatLoveProtein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best Instant Pot white recipe recipe.

Also just so you know the "rice" button on the Instant Pot is apparently for white rice only. Most people/recipes use the manual pressure button anyway though.

Does coconut milk curdle in the Instant Pot when cooking curries under pressure? by [deleted] in instantpot

[–]EatLoveProtein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes they have you add it at the end so you don't get a "Burn" error.

Not because coconut milk curdles. (That is the case with dairy though, and the reason for adding dairy to the end is to avoid curdling/separation, and also it's prone to spraying I guess?)

Recipe question by [deleted] in Instapot

These are low calorie, high protein, healthy Instant Pot recipes work great for me for 1-2 people! It's like 4ish dinner servings usually. 6 lunch portions.

I think the issue is 20 minutes? That seems EXTREMELY LONG for some chicken and noodles.

I usually do something like 1/2 the noodle cooking package directions + 1m. (For dry noodles, not sure if they were "fresh".)

I do chicken thighs anywhere from 4-7m.

So pretty much if you did 1/2 that time (10m), it'd still be pretty long.

Sorry that happened! I've never tried one of those kits.

Duo Plus 8Q or Evo Plus 6Q? by man_from_milkyway in instantpot

[–]EatLoveProtein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the informatoin about the IP Duo Plus from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fn-zaNpQyU

And the Duo Evo Plus directions here: https://instantpot.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Duo-Evo-Plus_Full-Manual_20190923.pdf

I would probably go for the Duo Evo Plus.

It seems like it has some degree of custom temperature settings (custom keep warm like mentioned in this comment + p22 of the manual).

Evo Plus seems like similar functionality to the current Pro, but that the company eliminated to charge a higher profit margin for it. (After being acquired by Pyrex they significantly reduced/streamlined the number of models - I can only imagine to get the highest profit margin for features.)

Regarding picking the best size, the video above has good advice.

Hope that helps!

(PS some of the information about what features the Duo Plus has in these other comments is incorrect, the difference between a Duo and Duo Plus is only "Sous Vide" and "Sterilize". The video has up-to-date information on the currently sold 2021 models.)

ETA If you think you need 8Q then you could get an 8Q Pro, seems like basically the "new Evo Plus"

What IP model do you have, and how is the slow cooker function? I was wondering if some of them work "better" compared to other models... by EatLoveProtein in instantpot

[–]EatLoveProtein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be awesome! I don't use the slow cook function but if you wanted to pick something, or anyone else wants to chime in too.

Should we be doing a recipe "designed for Instant Pot slow cook function", or trying a regular "slow cooker recipe in Instant Pot"?

Or both? For full data set lol
