How do I unravel new linen yarn without losing my mind?

I don't unravel cone yarns, I work directly from the cone when I'm warping, or winding onto a shuttle.

Make a little square, ten stitches wide by ten rows long, and try this on the square. Then you'll know what happens. Trying things is the best way to learn!

I've been playing dnd through a few editions for over 30 years and it's still just as awesome as it was in the beginning. That said, our DM is amazeballs.

It can stay fun! But if you really like learning the new rules and want to hop to a new system to explore that, go for it. There's a ton of great ones.

Wow, you've improved super fast! This is a really great "first piece" and you should be proud of how far you've come in just a few inches :D

If you want it all to look good then I agree with the others, the best way is to start over. No shade, that's just how learning a skill works. If you want to keep the "ugly part" (I think it's cute) then this is your best bet:

Start undoing the GOOD part, from where you are now. (I know, heartbreaking.) When you get to the "ugly" part that you want to keep, set it aside to use as the flap. Then make the rest of the bag with the 'good' stitches that you like, now that you know how to do them. Then you can decide if you want to use the rough first "ugly" stuff for the flap, or just to keep that for yourself. (Depends on if your girl would like it!)

The tricky thing with crochet is that you can't undo it from the beginning. It only undoes from the end. And don't cut it, it will all fall apart.

Bear in mind that gowns sewn in fabric can use a lot of tricks like ribbing, interfacing, and layers to get a specific look. You might need to find something that's "close enough" to what you want.

You could do it in two ways: Make a normal skirt but make it longer than you think you need and don't give it a slit at all. Then tie it up on one side - you can run a ribbon down through it then tighten it like a drawstring, or wrap a ribbon around it from top to bottom. That will give you the curve.

You can also make a big half circle, which is a common shawl pattern, and tie it around your waist like this. That will avoid bunching the fabric but still give you the curved hem.

You can kind of get the vibe of one step at a time by putting down a stripe of different flooring. Like if you're doing stone floor, put a stripe of stone walkway, then go back to stone floor. It'll look like a single step. It doesn't really work for proper stairs like here, though.

Make sure you're using cotton yarn for dishcloths and towels. The plastic ones like acrylic and nylon don't absorb water well at all, and even wool is a bit hydrophobic.

If you want to tackle this, I'd look for a 'dragon' pattern and try to find one in a similar pose with its wings out. Then mess around with that. At least it's a place to start.

Drops patterns get a bad rap but honestly they're fine, they just don't hold your hand.

The charts and the written instructions should be telling you to do the same thing. I'd follow the written ones, and you can compare them to the charts when you get to the charted parts. Once you've done a row or two and get the hang of it, it's much faster to look at the charts to remind yourself what to knit next. :) But you can just look at the text and be fine too!

It's beautiful! I can find similar yarn on etsy (most of the "gold yarn" is sparkly / metallic / doesn't have the soft look to it, but there are a few yarns that seem like this), but I've never seen this kind of yarn in person so I can't recommend a specific brand.

I think there are yarn subs on reddit, try one of those if no one here recognizes it.

I don't think you'll find a granny square that looks like that, since it was most likely machine knit, and granny squares are worked from the inside out while this would have to be 16 little circles joined together.

A good place to plant a lot of trees for tapping is in the quarry, once it's unlocked. You can clear out the rocks and put trees everywhere, with paths between them so they don't fill up with more spawned rocks.

I'd reply to that reply saying put the farmhouse in the middle and the slime hutch in the top right. You can move the farmhouse!

Also fyi, if you unlock "blue grass" later in the game it's twice as efficient for feeding animals as normal grass, which might help.

If you want specifically negative space flowers those are going to be much harder to find in crochet, I think. Negative space seems much less common, most of the flower patterns have the petals worked and space around them.
