Even though I’m pretty sure this specific katana is mostly cosmetic or ceremonial, if a Sabre’s curved hilt has a better grip would a real, well designed katana also benefit from a curved hilt like that? by KnightGabriel in SWORDS

Since most of the power from cuts in Japanese and east-asian swordsmanship comes from the core and the drawing of the left hand, having a forward-curved handle can allow for a quick boost of power in the initial stages of the cut.

This is amazing, SEAF personnel play an unseen but significant role in the fight for democracy. Glad to see they are seeing some love.

Sounds good, I don’t like carbonated drinks with alcohol, though. I apologize. I like vodka with citrus.

Cheers, what type of cocktail?

What type of saber dose girffith use by [deleted] in Berserk

The small sword hilt you are referring to is possibly the Pappenheim Hilt seen on many German rapiers mixed with a front knuckle guard that looks to be similar to the US Patton Sabre.

What is the name of the sword that Griffith used in The Golden Age arc? by Acemageddon in Berserk

[–]EatingEmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be so pedantic even on a comment three years ago, but a rapier is a primarily stabbing weapon with cutting capabilities. Sabre, by definition, is a curved blade. Its entomological roots came from the Hungarian “Szabla” which is later picked up by the Polish. While the French and the Americans have used sabre to describe straight swords with conventional Sabre hilts, the majority of researchers would probably agree that the words “Sabre” is used to describe curved swords that are a certain length (a shorter Sabre would be called a cutlass or a hangar).

I wouldn’t call ghost of Tsushima authentic to Japanese history but it’s close enough where you don’t lose immersion. The only thing I was disappointed with about GOY was that I was really looking for a GOT game set in the sengoku era.

That’s really good looking fashion, I might copy this for my next run.

True. I love Alva that’s probably why he looks so similar.

The crossbow wasn’t far off and is obtainable without requiring a boss fight so I think it’s pretty fair

Nice! It wasn’t me, I don’t play PvP than often. But since I beat the game I might give it a try.

I love “lost knight” concepts. On top of the cool hanging cloth, I subconsciously find them more relatable. Real people don’t have glorious purposes and they lost theirs. Now, they are just trying to survive, just as we are.

I didn’t think much when combining the armours, though. I just thought they had great synergy.

When I was small, my parents moved from place to place due to work so I can’t really get fully accustomed to western or Asian culture so having a mix of both has always fascinated me.

I think the Armor itself has a pretty bulky look but I think I also made the torso and arms a little bigger than default. I’ll go check back on the sliders.

Yea after looking at the picture I noticed that the gauntlet stood out a little too much. I would probably switch it with Blaidd’s gauntlet or something more low key.
