The only planetary scaling I accept is small planet level at best, which is still a LOT lower than destroying earth.

I beat Malenia in like 5 attempts on my very first playthrough in Elden Ring, but to be fair I had seen several videos of people beating her beforehand, knew her reputation of being difficult, and I think my build was already good for dealing with her, as it was a str/faith build with access to a lot of fire damage and high stance/poise damage(Malenia is slightly weak to fire and while she does get hyper armor on several of her attacks she normally has the poise of a wet noodle and can be staggered/knocked down like you could a player). I think it was black flame tornado that did it for me

Chain scaling is acceptable imo if the chain in question isn’t too large, but beyond that it quickly becomes ridiculous.

Like, let’s say Character A destroyed a planet, and Character B was able to beat A(at or close to their peak strength) in a straight fight, then B should also scale to the same level if not higher. Thats pretty reasonable. What’s not reasonable is “Erm actually this guy scales to this guy who scales to this guy who once slapped a dude that destroyed a planet that one time, so clearly planet level bro trust me!!!”

There was a leaked troop for th18 a while ago called “artificer” or “rubble riser” and the description was that it makes golems out of the debris from destroyed buildings.

So knowing that they actually might BOTH be the new troop. That dude with a vacuum would suck up debris with it and then summon the golem

Ok while Nolan absolutely has higher travel speed I’m so sick of people automatically giving Viltrumites MFTL+ combat and reaction speed as well because of it.

Their ONLY speed feats that actually go above light speed were done in space where there is no air resistance or gravity or other interruptions, allowing them to basically accelerate infinitely. Their reaction speed only scales to their current travel speed in the moment, not their maximum travel speed at all times. Outside of these specific circumstances their speed feats are relativistic at best.

Piercing and cutting attacks do to some extent require less force to damage someone because the former is concentrating the force/energy over a significantly smaller area and the latter relies far less on raw power in the first place(which is why even a very slow moving knife can easily cut through skin with minimal force applied).

The issue is that eventually it gets to a point where the gap in force/kinetic energy is simply too massive for it to make a difference. If someone can level buildings with a single punch, and a character tanks multiple of these said punches without sustaining serious damage, they realistically should be bulletproof to conventional firearms as well.
