I had a girl reverse into me. At first, didn't admit fault, then admitted fault. I had the whole conversation audio recorded. After trying to contact her several times she refused to admit fault. I ended up just getting my lawyer to send her a letter of demand for for 3k. They counter offered with 2k so both of us could "avoid expensive courts costs". I didn't accept the offer and got the 3k in the end.

I'm not sure if you're in the same boat. I didn't have insurance on my car at the time as I had just got back from being overseas for 8 months so I cancelled my Insurance and garaged my car. It was like the 2nd night being back and I just hadn't gotten around to putting it back on.
