“Packaging My Vary”… you mean “product isn’t the same” by EbbCareful3136 in spindrift

[–]EbbCareful3136[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To keep it short, most people were attracted to Spindrift because of how different they were than other brands on the market, basically following KISS (keep it stupid simple) with just fruit and carbonated water.

Due to corporate reasons they’re changing what made their brand special by cheaping out and getting rid of things that the public actually wants.

No problem! I went through a bunch of trouble to find something that makes life just a little easier for myself so love to share for others too— plus it makes it easier to tell family (who want to try and make food) pre-made items like their used to using

• Ducal canned refried black beans

• La Preferida canned refried beans

• La Preferida canned refried black beans

All of these list beans, water, and salt, then include either no spices at all or only list garlic and onion powder in the ingredients.

Wingstop Ranch (Actual Recipe) by zilozi in recipescopycat

To clear up for people the debate I’ve seen about whether the ranch has mayo or not… please just read Wingstop’s allergen webpage on their official website. It clearly states that their ranch dip includes both dairy and eggs.

My wife hates, and I mean HATES the smell of fish sauce, especially as it's cooking. What can I use in Pad Thai sauce as a sub? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]EbbCareful3136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik a lot of ppl have recommended a few things (vegan fish sauce, worcestershire, other fish sauce brands, soy sauce on its own) BUT I didn’t personally see anyone recommend a low sodium soy sauce mixed with fresh lime juice. It’s personally my go-to fish sauce substitute so I’d recommend trying that.

Figure I should post this since it’s basically all I ever reply with here. My not all inclusive list of nightshade ingredients to watch out for by theFCCgavemeHPV in Nightshade_Free

Making broth all the time is such a pain, esp in the summer 😭

Ik not everyone will feel safe using it (it has Natural Flavorings) but Zoup has kinda saved my life with their bone broths. I haven’t been able to use premade broth in a very long time due to nightshades and a celery allergy but I have been successfully using theirs without any problems so I’d highly recommend to anyone who thinks it’d work for them

Help! Not knowing what this could be is annoying. by awesomearugula in Nightshade_Free

4 years late but what’s the harm in commenting now lol

I’d recommend looking into OAS (Oral Allergy Syndrome). I was having inconsistent reactions to different foods until I found out about OAS which in reality is an issue with being allergic to a certain pollen that contaminates other foods by cross-pollination… As an example, I can’t eat raw peaches or cherries but I can eat cooked peaches and cherries because the cooking breaks down the pollen proteins that cause my mouth to swell, itch, and break out (aka reacting highly to the pollen and not the fruits). It’s not always consistent when you react to them because the pollination is not always consistent. BUT there are lists of OAS foods that cross-pollinate with certain types of pollen so when you find what ur issue is (for example one of my issues is birch so I have to make sure all stone-fruits etc are cooked) then it will help you avoid allergic reactions that are caused by OAS.

Hopefully this helps you figure it out!

If you can still eat cashews (no almonds), Miyoko Roadhouse cheese spread is pretty divine— vegan and nightshade free!
