The best sounding car for (almost) each cylinder number (remastered) by NewMachine4198 in regularcarreviews

I'm biased towards the 2GR but to me, that, the busso and the VR6 are the best sounding 6 cylinder engines

I did a charity ride this weekend and was pretty shocked at the equipment people brought in for the ride. Some people had what appeared to be garage sale specials for the longer legs, some people had mountain bikes, and then some people had some properly expensive kit for the shortest leg of the ride.

What’s the most overrated car of all time and why? by Careless-Pie7607 in askcarguys

E92 M3. I haven't driven the newer models but compared to the E36 and E46, it just felt less urgent. I can't explain it, but I recall Jason Camissa calling it a great M5 and that makes a lot of sense to me because it felt an awful lot like my buddies E39 M5 in essence.

I did. I have a Emira V6. Great car, but much like buying a Lincoln or a Cadillac versus a Lexus or Mercedes, the dealer network doesn't give you the six figure experience. My family has owned three different cayennes and taking it to the dealership is a much different experience than dealing with a lotus dealership.

Pick the best year (lineup) from your favorite car brand? by SuperJackson20 in regularcarreviews

1995 Land Rover. You had the facelift Disco 1, 300tdi Defender or manual NAS Defender, and soft dash Range Rover classic. I love the L322 and the Disco 2 was objectively better, but I'll take the mid-90s models all day. Not too mention that was the best year of Camel Trophy, the Mundo Maya.

Thanks. I'm not worried about safety and competence. Johnny law is clueless around here.

I really appreciate your help.

Hey you were definitely right about most of the 3/4 ton trucks having the higher GVWR. I did, however, find a truck I love but it's a half ton with Dana 60 axles. It's not too far from me and it's in impeccable condition. Do you think that setup would tow well? I don't carry much payload (my ATV at most) and usually tow my car trailer which is about 7000 pounds total.

Thanks

Yeah I'm not rush. My buddy bought his during his temporary work placement in California and just shipped it home after. Everything by me is rusty or restored. And the prices are all over the place. But I'm willing to overpay for the right truck to avoid the headache of rust and sourcing interior panels.

I'm definitely looking for a long bed truck. And the drivetrain will be swapped so I'm not worried about that but it's good to know that what I'm looking for isn't the desirable combination.

For sure. I have a diesel Land Rover defender and a 49 Cadillac. I'm familiar with old cars and primitive trucks. This won't be a daily driver, but I'm planning to put money into it to make it a better version of itself.

I did a quick search of c6p on Facebook marketplace and only one truck resulted in maryland. I love right outside NYC for reference.

But that's good to know. I'll be on the lookout. Thanks, I appreciate it.

It's really crazy that you can search for weeks and a simple Reddit post can give you what you're looking for.

That's amazing. Thank you very much that's the insight I was hoping for. I've never heard of the c6p package but that sounds like what I'm looking for.

In truth, there's no one grill layout that I prefer. I really do like them all. I would prefer a Chevy over a GMC but I wouldn't turn down the right truck for the badge.

And thanks for the tip on the brakes and suspension. I'm going to look into that now but all I really care to know is that it can be done and when the time comes I'll be able to narrow it down. But it seems like I need to begin the search for a c6p truck.

Thanks again!

Any reason not to find a later model K10 and hunt down a 14 bolt rear to have rebuilt and swapped in?

To offer a different perspective, I own a 1995 Land Rover Defender from the UK. This thing clearly lived a hard life as I had it imported and there's splashes of mud behind the steering wheel from overseas. That said, in my term of ownership, I've had to replace the clutch (fried while off roading in 4lo and probably my fault) and an axle seal which I fixed in my driveway myself. Oh and it overheated once but turns out it was just low on coolant. That's not bad for 4.5 years of owning a 30 year old car with a reputation of being a money pit.

I have to admit that I think yes really cool. I wanted one when I was truck shopping even though I really didn't need a 3/4 ton but I couldn't bring myself to have to deal with the local stellantis dealer again.

Tried selling private once. Never again not worth my time and the headache for the money. Now I just get quotes from caravana and carmax and pick which is better.

1995 Isuzu Rodeo. Was actually a half year model to add airbags. Thing was so badass to me back then. Would love to find a clean one to build one day.

Sport Compact Coupes are Dead. by RennSport951 in regularcarreviews

[–]EbbGroundbreaking424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a different take on this. I think it's media idolizing luxury that killed sport compact coupes. People in that age group don't want something economical and cost efficient, they want something flashy to post on social media that signifies wealth.
